WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Welcome to worship, brothers and sisters in Christ! May our various voices joined in praise bless the name of the Lord. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

PRE-CONFESSION class will meet this morning during the Sunday School hour in “David”.

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is from Colossians 1:15-20 & Ephesians 4:11-16 titled “The Government of the Church”.

COLLEGE/CAREER Bible Study will meet next Sunday evening in the Youth Building at 7:15p.

MINNIKOTA YOUTH & DORDT invite 6th-8th graders to the 7th Annual Jr. High Retreat April 7-9 at Inspiration Hills. This is an opportunity for students to come together and worship, serve, and meet new friends. Dordt students will become the students’ small group leaders, as well as lead in song, worship, games, service and drama. For more information contact Lee De Groot at 470-4244.

THE CONGREGATION is invited to an organ & panfluet concert on Wed., April 5, in Dordt’s Auditorium at 7:30p. Admission is free. The purpose of this concert will be to raise funds for Word & Deed Ministries - an inter-denominational Christian relief organization that has as its mission “to address the spiritual and physical needs of people in the developing world in accordance with biblical principles”. A free will offering will be taken during the concert. Thanks to local businessmen all concert-related expenses have been covered. 100% of the funds collected will be donated to Word & Deed Ministries’ Children’s Project in Ecuador.

Ÿ Congratulations to Travis and Brittany Van Otterloo on the birth of a daughter, Aubree Mae, who was born on Friday, March 24.

Ÿ Pete Pollema was admitted to the Rock Valley Hospital on Friday, May 24, with pneumonia. He was able to return home on Monday. Pray for healing.

Ÿ Eldon De Wild went to Madison, WI on Monday to have tests done at the VA. The doctors plan to meet in the next few weeks to decide on the transplant.

Ÿ Gert Zevenbergen continues under the care of hospice at Pleasant Acres. Pray that Gert will be comfortable.

Ÿ Pray for our shut ins: Sally De Groot, Audrey Jongetjes, Florence Kroese, and Melvin Van Otterloo at Pleasant Acres; Wilma Altena, Julianne Kats, Esther Rozeboom, Goldie Veldman, and Anthony Smit at Aspen Heights; Don Westra in his home, and Ardelle Westra in Sioux City.


Ÿ Diana Dykstra had knee replacement surgery this past week. All went well. Please pray for her continued recovery and healing in the weeks to come.

Ÿ Dan Bosma had rotator cuff surgery on his shoulder this past week. We pray for his recovery and healing as well.

Ÿ We remember our members who reside in care facilities: Mary Grooters at Pleasant Acres, Marv Boon at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them.


Each year the seniors at Western Christian High School are able to invite their grandparents to spend some time with them at Western. They attend a special chapel service, share a meal, and show their grandparents around the school. This year seniors are inviting grandparents to come on Tuesday, April 11, at 9:00a. The seniors have the information to share with you. Grandparents can have their grandkids let the office know they are coming or grandparents can contact the office at 439-1013.


THE COMMUNITY is invited to hear Dordt’s First Monday Speaker series presenter Roger Wiens on Monday, April 3, at 11:00a in the Auditorium. Wiens leads the laser instrument team on the one-ton Curiosity rover that has been exploring Mars for the last four years. Wiens will present “Exploring Mars with Curiosity”.

THE NAMI SUPPORT GROUP will meet in the Fireside Room of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center from 7:00-9:00p on Tuesday, April 4. Carolyn Salberg, the supervisor of Hope Haven Peer Support Services will be the speaker. Individuals and family members coping with mental illness are invited to join us.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN for Dordt Discovery Days June 19-June 23. This is for students who have completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. This camp offers more than 30 classes in the arts, sciences, and recreation. Residential, commuter and day camp options are available. Go to to see this year’s class line and to register. DORDT COLLEGE THEATRE ARTS presents an original musical written by senior Kyle Fosse. Casually deep and playfully serious summarize the feel of this satirical musical. This lighthearted piece explores ideas relevant to the local community and American culture. DORDT COLLEGE senior Ashley Verhoef of Sanborn will perform a vocal recital on Friday, April 7, at 7:30p in the Auditorium. The community is invited to attend and to join the reception following the performance.

THE NORTHWEST IOWA SYMPHONY Youth Orchestra, led by conductor Dr. Christopher Stanichar, will present its Spring Concert on Sat., April 8, at 3:00 in Dordt’s Auditorium. NISYO will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Geminiani, Leroy Anderson, Eduardo Gamboa and local composer Deanna Wehrspann. The concert is free and open to the public.

LAST CHANCE! Mid-America Reformed Seminary cordially invites you to “Confident of Better Things,” a promotional dinner hosted by Rev. Andrew Compton, Rev. Mark Vander Hart, and Rev. THE NORTHWEST IOWA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will present its annual Spring Concert Rocky! An All-Rachmaninoff Program on Tuesday, April 11, at 7:00p at Dordt. Guest artists for the evening include University of Northern Iowa professor Sean Botkin on piano and founding conductor of NISO, Henry Duitman.

HOPE HAVEN BENEFIT CONCERT on Saturday, April 15, at 6:30p in Dordt’s Auditorium. The Dixie Melody Boys from Kinston, NC, Master’s Voice Quartet from Sioux Falls and the Triumphant Sound Quartet from Lawton will perform. Tickets are $15 per person and sold at the door only. Doors open at 5:00p.

JOIN the Sioux County Oratorio Chorus for an exciting concert on Saturday, April 22, at 7:30p in the Dordt Auditorium. SCOC will come together with the Dordt College Concert Choir, the Northwestern College Heritage Singers, soloists, orchestra and organ. Led by Dr. Benjamin Kornelis, professor of music at Dordt, the chorus will present Haydn’s Missa brevis Sancti Joannia de Deo, also known as the “Little Organ Mass” – an unfailingly joyful setting of the Roman Catholic Mass. SCOC will also be singing the Midwestern premiere of Songs of Ascent by Iowa native Shawn Kirchner. The ambitious and powerful work features texts sung by pilgrims journeying to Jerusalem. Tickets are $8 in advance/$10 at the door and can be purchased at Northwestern Music office, Windmill Park Jewelers, True Vine, Dordt music office or Touch of Hope.

ADVANCE NOTICE: Bible League Spring Salad Luncheon will be held on Monday, May 1, at 11:30a at the Sanborn URC. The program will include a presentation from Harold Trujillo, Regional Training Coordinator. He will speak about the Project Philip Program. Please bring a salad for every 2 ladies.
