FIRST CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH

August 16, 2015

WELCOME TO FIRST HULL  Welcome to this time set aside for worship and Christian fellowship. We need this break from the busyness of the world – even in summer. Pause and relax in the arms of Jesus. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

WE WELCOME Rev. Norlyn Van Beek as he leads our evening service. His message is from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 titled “Branded for Life”.

PASTOR LOREN & Norma will be attending a retreat this week in Illinois and will be on vacation the following week returning on August 31. In case of a special need, call your care group elder or Rev. Klompien.

NEXT SUNDAY Rev. Marvin Van Donselaar from Sioux Center will lead our worship services and on Aug. 30th Rev. Doug De Groot will lead our worship services.

HURTING FROM THE LOSS of a loved one? Grief Share is a 13 week biblically based seminar/support group featuring nationally recognized experts on grief recovery. Mondays at Sioux Center Library beginning August 17 at 6:45 PM (more info? call Deb De Nooy at 441-3689). Or Thursdays at 7:00p at Orange City Library beginning August 27 (Mary Block 541-5985).

HOUSING NEEDED: We are back in the U.S. on home assignment running through Feb. In fact, we are excited to be visiting churches and partners in the Iowa and Minnesota areas between Nov. and Jan. 31. We are trying to secure a place to stay for our soon-to-be family of 6 (Dad& Mom and 4 boys, ages 0 through 11) for that time period of 3 months. We are open to the options of house-sitting or renting an affordable place with a flexible, short term contract. Our hope in terms of location would be an area from which we could easily commute to the different churches in Hull, Sioux Center and Orange City. Anyway, we would be very grateful if any of you are able to assist us with this need or point us in the right direction. Every blessing and we look forward to hearing from you. –Sos and Kara

THANK YOU to all those who remembered us on our birthdays and on our anniversary this summer. We appreciate your thoughtfulness. –Pastor Loren and Norma

THANK YOU: We would like to thank the congregation for remembering us with prayers, cards, and words of encouragement. Special thanks to Pastor Loren & Norma, Elders Henry and Tim Kats for their uplifting visits. Also, thank you to our Care Groups, #6 & #8, for the plaques. We greatly appreciate all the acts of kindness in the loss of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. We find comfort knowing that mom is now home in Heaven with her Savior.  –Arch, Val, Phil & Sherry Brummel
