WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Welcome to worship, sisters and brothers, as we look toward the coming of the Christ! A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.
WE WELCOME Pastor Carl Klompien as he leads our worship services today. His message this evening is from I Thessalonians 1:1-20 titled “It’s All Over But the Shouting”.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE in the sanctuary for Beginners-6th grade. Please meet in the front of church immediately following the service. Bring your props if you haven’t done so yet. Parents: please note that practice could last a little longer.

BAPTISM: Tom & Ranae Sheffield and Troy & Tina Bruxvoort have requested the sacrament of baptism for their children, Judson David Sheffield and Alexander Dean & Andrew Joseph Bruxvoort. Baptism will take place next Sunday morning.
LOVE INC GIVING TREES will be located at the Pizza Ranch in Hull and M&H True Value in Rock Valley. Take a tag from the tree to purchase gifts. Please have the gifts returned to the same tree by December 15.
GEMS will meet Wed., Dec. 16, at 1st CRC lower parking lot at 6:30p for our skating party at the All Seasons Center. There are additional activities for those who choose not to skate. Estimated return time is 8:45p.
THE BANQUET is in desperate need of containers (cool whip, butter, etc.) for their guests to take home food. Please put your containers in the box in the narthex marked Banquet.
HOLIDAY GREETINGS: Please share your holiday pictures with the rest of the congregation by placing your Christmas pictures/cards in the mailbox of Darla Van’t Hul. The pictures will be displayed on the bulletin board in the entry! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
HULL CHAMBER has set up a Giving Tree at Iowa State Bank for the Sack Pack Program. Please select a gift tag from the tree and purchase the item pictured on your tag. There is NO limit as to how many of this item you can donate! Any monetary donations can be given to Nathan at ISB. Return your donations to the bank lobby by noon, Dec. 24. The Hull Sack Pack program is designed to provide nutritious, healthy food to children in the Hull & Boyden communities, at risk of hunger. SAVE THE DATE! Day of Encouragement will be Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016. The keynote speaker will be Dordt College Dean of Chapel, Pastor Aaron Baart, who will address the topic of fear in our world. Details will become available in early January with registration opening January 4. The Day of Encouragement, sponsored by Dordt College, is a day to inspire, encourage and equip God’s people for ministry. Everyone is welcome to participate.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:
Lyla Boer continues her recovery after knee replacement surgery and is doing well. Pray for continued healing and progress.
Mary Grooters is now receiving hospice care. She is resting comfortably. Please pray for her and family as they continue to make decisions related to her care.
Evelyn Dykstra has moved to Michigan this past week. We give thanks for a safe trip and continue to pray for her and family as she adjusts to her new home in Byron Center.
Wilma Heynen had surgery this week to remove her gallbladder. All went well and she has returned home. We pray for her continued recovery.
We pray for continued recovery for Arnold Nielsen, father of Martin Nielsen. Arnold is recovering from surgery after receiving a new heart valve.
We also continue to remember our members who reside in care facilities: Mary Grooters at Aspen Heights, Hermina Hulstein at Pleasant Acres, and Harriet Kooiker at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. We also pray for their families as they support them.
Celebrate Christmas by attending Western’s Choral and Instrumental Christmas Concert on Monday, Dec. 14, at 7:00p at Dordt. All the choral and instrumental groups at Western will be performing and celebrating in music the birth of our Lord and Savior. Treats and coffee will be available for purchase during intermission. A free-will offering will be received.
Western Christian thanks all of those businesses and individuals who attended and gave generously to the Western Fun’d night auction and dinner. Over $135,000 was raised for educational support, transportation, and the new renovations. We thank God for blessing Western through the continued support of so many!
DORDT COLLEGE: If you stop over at Dordt’s campus this December, you’ll see a lot of well-dressed students braving the cold in dresses and ties. These students are dressing up to fight for human dignity, first by raising awareness of the global sex trade and then by raising funds to make a small dent in the growing problem of human trafficking. INSPIRATION HILLS TUBING HILL is looking forward to opening this season as snow falls. Inspiration Hills is looking for workers this year to tend to our tubing hill on weekends/occasional nights. SIOUX COUNTY ORATORIO CHORUS: This season brings exciting opportunities for the Sioux County Oratorio Chorus and you are invited to be a part of it! Our season will include performances of Schubert’s Mass in G and Handel’s Zadok the Priest at Northwestern College’s Christ Chapel, as well as a tremendous opportunity to join the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra for a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Rehearsals are at Northwestern beginning January 12 at 7:30p, with performances April 16 and 30. Spend your Tuesday evenings with us, bringing the best of the oratorio tradition to Life!
