FIRST CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH

December 6, 2020

WELCOME TO FIRST HULL: “Stir up your might, and come to save us!” prayed the psalmist (Psalm 80:2, NRSV). Welcome to worship in Advent, as we await our Savior. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

THIS MORNING we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. The elders are offering communion packets to all professing members who enter the church. If you have not received one and are already seated, feel free to get a packet from the table in the back of church. The communion packet contains a wafer under a cellophane seal. This clear cellophane seal at the top must be removed first to access the wafer. To access the juice, peel back the second seal being careful not to squeeze the plastic cup. Point the tab away from you as you remove the seal. If you wish to do this prior to communion, you can keep the grape juice in the communion rack in the pew in front of you.

TODAY the Kindergarten class will be invited to come up front for the children message.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE: Please have all beginners through 6th grade Sunday School students meet at the front of church for Christmas Program practice after the morning service.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRELUDE: We are looking for kids (any age) to play the prelude for the Christmas Program on Sunday, December 13 at 3:00p. Please let Ashley Hulstein, Becca Te Slaa, Rachel Bolkema, or Shar Bonestroo know if your son or daughter would be interested.

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM is scheduled for next week Sunday, December 13. at 3:00p.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held on Monday, December 14, at 7:30p.

THIS EVENING Pastor Kotman’s message is from Revelation 3:14-22 titled “Jesus’ Words to a Complacent Church”.

THE EAST HALF of the sanctuary is designated as a social distancing area during services. Both East and West halves will be seated every other bench until full, at which point remaining people will be seated in empty benches on the West half.

THANK YOU everyone for the cards, prayers, and encouraging words following the death of my sister, Esther Rozeboom. Thank you also to Pastor Kotman and Elder Larry Wielenga for their calls. Your thoughtfulness and concern were appreciated!   --Duck Lokhorst
