WELCOME TO FIRST HULL As God called the prophets and as Jesus called the disciples, the Holy Spirit has called us – to this time of worship and to life in God’s love always. Welcome!  A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 

 

REMINDER: We have ceased all handshake greeting until the middle of March. Greeters will still be available prior to the service to welcome you and Elders will greet you after the service, but will NOT shake your hand.

SIOUX COUNTY YOUTH WORSHIP NIGHT will be held on Wed., Feb. 20, from 6-8:00p. The event is FREE of charge. Pizza served in the Campus Center along with games and a time to get to know students from other churches from 6:00-6:40; 6:45-8:00 will be a time of games, worship, and teaching in the BJ Haan Auditorium. THE SHARE GROUP for widows & widowers will meet on Thurs., Feb. 21, at noon at Homestead Commons in Hull. Melissa Beyer will cater. You ae asked to bring $10 to help offset the cost of the lunch. SAVE THE DATE:  Wed., Feb. 27, GEMS and Cadets will be holding their annual Supper and Pinewood Derby Race at HCS. Supper will be served from 5:30-7:00p with the races starting at 7:00p.

 

ELDER/DEACON REGIONAL TRAINING EVENT will be held on Wed., Feb. 27, from 7-9p at the Dordt Ag Stewardship Center on Highway 75 focusing on the principles of “Adoptive & Operational Leadership”. EASTER CANTATA: “It Is Finished”. We are excited to once again be organizing this wonderful worship event for our Hull Community – Easter Sunday evening, April 21. Voices from Junior High and older are encouraged to be a part of this fantastic community choir!! Rehearsals will start on Sunday, March 3, from 3:00-4:00p at Hope CRC. WARM GREETINGS FROM WEST AFRICA: All our family and 18 pieces of luggage arrived in one piece in an uneventful trip from Montana to West Africa last night. Our friends and colleagues were at the airport with 3 vehicles to pick us up and we found our house running again (water, electricity, phone, and internet). Thank you to all of you friends, family, colleagues and partners for all your ongoing sustained prayers and care all along the way.  May our Heavenly Father continue to shine his grace, peace and love upon you. COMMUNITY BULLETIN

FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:   

  • Prayers are requested for Gary Roetman as he will be having another CT Scan in Omaha on Monday, Feb. 11th and having chemo on Tuesday. Pray for good results.
  • Wilmar Pollema continues with chemo treatment. Pray the chemo will be effective in reducing the numbers for his Multiple Myeloma.
  • Russ Vander Schaaf will be hospitalized at the VA Hospital for another 4-6 weeks for the infection he has. Pray for better health.
  • Duane Vande Griend continues with cancer treatment. Pray for relief from the side effects from cancer meds. Pray for better health and for a better appetite.
  • Heath Stoker is doing well as he continues on maintenance chemo & bone hardener. Please continue to pray for good health and building of his immune system.
  • Give thanks that Lisa Wiersma is doing well. She is grateful that her side effects are very minimal. She has finished five weeks of treatment with one remaining.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS: 

  • Joan Buyert continues her recovery at Royale Meadows in Sioux Center. Please pray for her strength, wisdom and encouragement.
  • Cruise De Groot continues his deployment to the Middle East. Please pray for his safety and encouragement.
  • We remember Marv Boon at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. We also remember those who reside at home but aren’t able to join us from week to week. We also pray for their families as they support them.

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

      HCS is accepting applications for a middle school teacher. This individual will be responsible for teaching mostly language arts classes. The position can be either part-time or full-time.       Little Blessings Pre-School Registration: HCS will be having an informational night and registration for Little Blessings Pre-School the evening of Feb. 21, from 6:30-7:30p. Mrs. Boer will be making a presentation at 7:00 regarding the daily activities of pre-school. ORANGE CITY Area Home Health & Hospice is offering a Grief Support Group for six consecutive Tuesday afternoons beginning Feb. 12 from 1-2:30p in the private dining room at Prairie Ridge Care Center. The goal is to help individuals understand the dynamics of grief and provide a safe environment to express their feelings. Professionals and past participants also share information about grief, and help group members discover the skills they need to begin again.
