WELCOME TO FIRST HULL: We gather to worship in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Welcome to all, dear family of Christ. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

THIS MORNING we commemorate Cadet Sunday. We give thanks for the leaders and all the boys who participate in this important program.

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is from Daniel 2:1-28 titled “God is in Control”.

THIS EVENING Riley Daniel Te Slaa, infant son of Kyle & Becca, will receive the sacrament of baptism.

CHOIR will be starting for the second semester next week Sunday, January 31. We would love to have new members!

A FEW 8TH GRADE STUDENTS in HCS STEAM class are doing a community service project. They chose to donate items to Promise Community Health Center. If you would like to help care for new moms and their babies, there will be a table in the back of church for you to put your donations on. A few items you may donate are diapers, baby bottles, baby clothes, wipes, blankets, etc. The pickup date has been extended to January 31st.

CARD SHOWER: The family of Goldie Veldman is requesting a card shower for her 90th birthday, February 1. Her address is: Goldie Veldman, 1410 Aspen St., #118, Hull, IA 51239.

ED SCHOLTEN, oldest member of our congregation, will celebrate his 96th birthday, January 28th. Care Group #3 would like to host a card shower to honor him. His address is: Royal Meadows, 1400 7th Ave. SE, Room #702, Sioux Center, IA 51250. The flowers on the table in the back of church are in honor of Ed’s birthday.

MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER: The communicant memberships of Ben & Lisa Wiersma and their two baptized daughters, Sydney and Lydia, have been transferred, at their request, to the Sibley CRC. We wish them God’s blessing in their new church home.

COFFEE BREAK: After much thought and prayer and input from the CB Staff, it has been decided to put the Hull CB program aside until this fall. Please keep this beautiful community program in your mind and look for notice of it beginning this fall. Until then, stay strong in the Word and look for ways to bring joy to others. -Bev Altena, CB Director

THANK YOU to the many of you for cards, food and feelings expressed during Belle’s recent stroke and our bouts with Covid. Belle has adjusted well at Sheldon Health Care Center. We ask for continued prayers as we go forward with the help of God. -Belle & Ken Draayer

THANK YOU so much to our amazing church community for all the phone calls, messages and cards we received with the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather Verne. We extend our Christian sympathy to Hilary and Rick Van Hill and Ben and Lisa Wiersma in the passing of Hilary’s and Ben’s grandmother, Hanna Wiersma of Sibley. She passed away on Tuesday, January 12.

Give thanks that Walt den Hoed is recovering well from his recent Rotator Cuff surgery. Continue to pray for healing.

Pray for Jarvis De Wild. His cancer has progressed and he will begin immunotherapy.

Keep Galen Drent in your prayers as he recovers from back and neck injuries. Galen is scheduled to have the back and neck brace removed on Thursday. Pray that the doctor will be pleased with Galen’s progress.

Continue to pray for Ron Techen as he recovers from hip surgery.

Jo (Mrs. Sid) Westra is now a resident at Royale Meadows in Sioux Center, 1400 7th Ave., SE, Room #616, Sioux Center, IA 51250. Her phone number is 722-2100. Pray for strength.  

Jacoba Rens is recovering from hip surgery and Covid at the Sioux Center Hospital. Give thanks that she is improving and doing physical therapy.

Al Rens was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, January 17, with Covid and pneumonia. Pray for healing.

Goldie Veldman was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, January 16, with Covid and dehydration and released on Wednesday. Pray for strength and healing.

Pray for all those in this congregation and beyond who are struggling with Covid.

Remember all those in our congregation who are confined to their homes as well as those in nursing homes or in assisted living as they are unable to have visitors at this time due to COVID-19. This is a difficult time for them so a phone call or a note from members of the congregation would be appreciated!

We praise God that Isaac Cook & AyshaLynn De Groot were united in marriage earlier this month (Jan. 2). We pray for blessings on their union.

Pray for Mark Steiger as he awaits surgery next Friday to remove his gallbladder. Pray for quick healing and that his abdominal pain resolves with this treatment.

Please remember Arnold Nielsen (father of Martin & Sandy) in your prayers. Pray that his health continues to improve.

We remember Leo, son of Greg and Jasmine Boer. We pray that he can recover quickly from his infection, and that his upcoming surgeries to repair his esophagus go well.

We continue to pray for those who are recovering from Covid-19 or have family members that are dealing with this illness. We pray for healing and are thankful for so many that have recovered.

We pray for our families. Some have significant challenges in their lives for a variety of reasons. Let us pray for peace, stability, healing, and restoration.

We pray for those who join us in worship from their homes. Whether they are unable to attend or are taking appropriate precautions due to age or illness, we pray for the Lord’s presence and care in their lives.

DIGITAL ZOO – A FUNDRAISER FOR HOPE HAVEN PRESENTED BY DKOI: Join us for a drive-thru digital zoo! Come drive through Westview Business Park in Rock Valley, Monday, January 25 through Saturday, January 30th (open 5:30p-10:00p each night). This event is a safe, socially distanced family outing-don’t miss your chance to experience the digital zoo exhibits from the comfort of your car. All of the “exhibits” will feature a fun, digital experience on a DKOI sign – no live animals will be present. Signs will offer instructions and help guide the flow of traffic. CENTER FOR FINANCIAL EDUCATION’S Celebration Dinner will be Thursday, Feb. 4, at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Join us for Lorraine Nieuwsma’s Prime Rib dinner.
