WELCOME TO FIRST HULL In Paul’s words to believers of long ago: “To God’s holy people…Grace and peace to you from God our Father” (Col. 1:2, NIV). Welcome! A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

THIS EVENING we welcome Trevor Mouw as he leads our worship service. His message is from Colossians 2 titled “Freedom!”

NEXT SUNDAY MORNING we have the joy of witnessing the sacrament of baptism of Beau Adrian Scholten, infant son of Jon and Bethany.

LADIES/MEN who are able to help out at JFA in Rock Valley on Tuesday, July 12, may meet in the upper parking lot of church at 12:45p to car pool.

THE SHARE GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, July 21, at 6:00p at St. Paul Lutheran Church. We will enjoy a spaghetti supper. Following our meal, a Gideon representative will share their story. Be sure to bring $5 to help cover expenses. Call Deanna Tiedeman (439-2229) with any questions.

REGISTRATION FORMS for the 2022-2023 Kids’ Club year will become available this week. Registration forms will be made available in the following ways: Boyden Hull registration packets, via email for Hull Christian students, on the Chamber Websites, the city website, or in the American Reformed Church office M-F until noon. Kids’ Club is open to students who will be entering grades K-3 this fall at no cost. MANY THANKS to all for the love and many, many prayers for our granddaughter, Grace DeJong, while she was going through her open-heart surgery and subsequent emergency bowel surgery. The love, support, concern and prayers of our loving church family were absolutely overwhelming! And above all, all praise and glory goes to our Gracious Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and Healer! We thank Him for successful surgeries, for sparing her life and for her amazing recovery! Praise God always! -Walt & Lavonne den Hoed

THANK YOU: We want to thank everyone of our church family for the cards of encouragement, thoughts, and prayers during the surgeries on my hand and the issues with my heart. The valve replacement surgery appears to have been successful. George will be starting cardiac rehab next week. Special thanks to our care group, elder Rod Te Krony and Pastor Kotman for all the calls and prayers. We have felt the presence of God during this time.  -George & Nancy Heynen  



We extend our Christian sympathy to Daryl & Marvella Van Wyhe in the passing of Daryl’s sister-in-law, Fran (Mrs. Kerwin) Van Wyhe of Denver, Colorado. She passed away on Thursday, June 30.

We extend our Christian sympathy to Walt and Lavonne den Hoed and all who mourn the passing of Walt’s sister, Corrie Schelling of Sioux Center. She died on Tuesday, July 5.

Ed Scholten has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has been placed on hospice care as of Thursday, July 7. Pray that he will be comfortable.

Continue to pray for Taylyn Vander Schaaf in anticipation of her surgery. Pray for continued health and that she gains more weight. Give thanks that the echo showed no change from her last echo two months ago.

Give thanks that knee replacement surgery went well for Harlyn Bolkema on Tuesday. Pray for healing.

Continue to remember Carver and Maddox Kooima as they grow and develop.

Pray for Russ Vander Schaaf as he continues with cancer treatments. Pray for strength, energy, healing and relief from pain.  

Pray for Rick Van Hill as he continues to receive treatments. Pray that the treatments will be effective. Pray for strength, energy, encouragement, and healing.

Donna Rens was scheduled for surgery at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls on Friday, July 8, to have a defibrillator put in. Pray for healing.

Pray for Howard and Marilyn Grevengoed as they adjust to their new home. Pray for strength for Howard and Marilyn.

Pray for Rog Vis in his struggle with Parkinson’s.

Pete Steiger’s mother and Mark Steiger’s grandmother, Janet Steiger, went to be with the Lord last week Wednesday morning unexpectedly. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 9, in Lynden, WA. Pray for comfort for the family.

Loren Van Otterloo continues in his course of treatment. He has once again been blessed with minimal side effects. This week he visited with an oncologist at Mayo Clinic for a second opinion, specifically concerning the surgery to remove the cancer. Please pray for clarity and peace through the process! God is in control and HE CAN do more than we ask or imagine!

Pray for Jackie Covey and her family. She was recently diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. The family had appointments Thursday with a palliative care team and radiation oncology to discuss plans for her care.

Cody Bauer has had appointments this week at Mayo in Rochester to seek more answers for the cause of his seizures. Please continue to keep him and Kathy and the family in your prayers.

We pray for those who are recovering from surgeries. We give thanks for those who have received good news and healing. We mourn with and plead for those who are dealing with difficult news.

We pray for our marriages, that God would encourage us as Husbands and Wives to love each other as Christ has loved His church.

We pray for those who are going through struggles, heart break, betrayal, confusion, and battling addiction.

We pray for those who worship from their homes. May they be filled with hope and feel included as part of our church family.

Pray for those in our community who are sick, dealing with pain, or those who have ongoing prayer concerns that they will return to good health and recover quickly.
