WELCOME TO FIRST HULL  Welcome to worship, friends and guests – brothers and sisters, all, in the family of God! A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 

 

THIS MORNING we have the privilege of witnessing the baptism of Maxine Marie, infant daughter of Kyle and Becca Te Slaa. We also have the privilege of welcoming Kyle & Becca to our church family. They are in Care Group #3. Their phone numbers are 578-1425 & 952-484-5940. Welcome!

 

THIS EVENING Rev. Kotman’s message is taken from Nehemiah 6 titled “The Wall Complete: Now What?”  

 

CLASSIS IAKOTA invites you to the ordination and installation of Mr. Douglas De Groot to the office of Minister of Word and Sacrament this afternoon at Calvin CRC in Rock Valley at 2:30p. Doug has been called to serve as a pastor of the Cornerstone CRC, located in the SD State Prison in Sioux Falls. His installation service will be Friday, August 7, at Cornerstone Prison Church. Please be in prayer for Pastor Doug as he takes this exciting step! We praise God for his faithfulness and leading as we celebrate these occasions.

 

BAPTISM: Matthew & Kait Schultze have requested the sacrament of baptism for their infant daughter, Gracen Joan. Baptism will take place next Sunday morning, July 12th.

 

BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIRS and join us as we conclude Summerfest with The Brown Family at an outdoor worship event at 6:00p on the parking lot of the 1st Ref. Church.

 

THE SHARE GROUP for widows/widowers will meet on Thurs., July 16, at 6:00p at the Homestead Commons in Hull. We will be grilling hamburgers for our meal. Following the meal we will view the next DVD’s of Bob’s Travel Africa. We need to have a count of how many are coming so please let Pastor Katie 470-4195 or Deanna Tiedeman 439-2229 know by July 13 if you are coming.

 

OPEN HOUSE: Sandy Kroese and Gary Westra invite you to celebrate their marriage at an Open House on Saturday, July 18, 1:00-3:00p at Hope CRC. Let your presence be your gift.

 

BIRTHDAY: Sally De Groot will be 90 years old on July 21, 2015. Her family invites the congregation to join us for coffee, juice and cake after the morning service next week, July 19, to celebrate God’s faithfulness in her life.

 

THANK YOU: We would like to thank Pastor Kotman and Pastor Klompien for their many prayers, phone calls and visits and to the care groups and many others for your thoughts and prayers, cards, expressions of sympathy, and many deeds of kindness with dad’s passing and during the time in the nursing home. Some difficult times for dad and us, but with the Lord’s help and prayers from you dad was at peace.

NW IA BIBLE LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS “Christmas in July” silent auction is Mon., July 27, at 1:00p at the Carmel Reformed Church. Ladies are invited to bring Christmas items, baked goods, crafts, etc. to be sold in a silent auction. Money collected goes to the Bibles for South America project. Afternoon program is a video by Dr. Joel Nederhood. Refreshments will be served.

 

COMMUNITY BULLETIN

FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:    

We express our Christian sympathy to Roger & Mary De Groot and family in the passing of their brother & uncle, Cornie Van Beek, last week Sunday. We pray for their comfort and for the hope we have in the Resurrection.

Pray for Melvin Van Otterloo who was admitted to the Sioux Center Hospital on Monday with pneumonia.

Continue to remember Glenda De Jong as she recovers from hip surgery. Give thanks for progress made.

Wilmar Pollema has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. He will begin treatment tomorrow. Pray for healing.

Pray for safe travel for Sam Scholten as he returns home this coming week after a year overseas. He appreciates all the support he’s been given and looks forward to spending a few weeks with family and friends. Feel free to drop in any time to visit with him.

Continue to pray for Addison Pfingsten as she continues to struggle with seizures. John and Lindsey are waiting to hear from the neurosurgeon concerning a next step. Pray for patience and strength for John and Lindsey and for healing for Addison.

Continue to keep Pete Soodsma, George Heynen, DeAnn Timmermans, Jeanette Boogerd, and Sandy Starkenburg in your prayers. Pray for continued healing and return to full strength.

Continue to remember Sherry Brummel in your prayers as she continues to receive chemo and continues to fight bronchitis. Pray for better health and encouragement.

Russ Vander Schaaf continues with hyperbaric therapy treatment. Pray that the treatments will prevent bleeding.

Give thanks that Rog Vis continues to make progress.

Gary Roetman continues with his biweekly cancer treatment. Continue to pray for God’s healing mercies.

Joyce Kroese will discontinue chemo for another month to build up her strength. Pray for strength and encouragement.

Pray for our shut ins: Audrey Jongetjes, Florence Kroese, Gert Zevenbergen, and Melvin Van Otterloo at Pleasant Acres; Wilma Altena at Aspen Heights, Don Westra and Nell Brunsting in their home; Tena Pollema and Marvin & Alberta Vander Wilt in Sioux Center; and Ardelle Westra in Sioux City.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:    

We praise God that the Cary Serve Team arrived home safely last week. We give thanks for the work that they were able to accomplish. We look forward to hearing from them next Sunday morning, July 19.

Arnold Nielsen, father of Martin Nielsen, was hospitalized this past week with heart issues. He received a stent and is doing well. Please pray for healing for Arnold and for his care in the future as he may have to undergo another surgery for a valve replacement.

Zakiah Van Der Zwaag broke his arm this week. He received a cast, but he is doing well. We pray for healing.

Please continue to keep Tricia Heynen in your prayers as she continues to rest and recover from her accident. We pray for strength and healing.

We continue to pray for healing for Wanda Talsma’s hand. We give thanks for progress so far.

We pray for Gene Driesen, Nella, and family as Gene receives care from hospice. We pray for his comfort and peace.

We also continue to remember our members who reside in care facilities: Dick Dykstra and Mary Grooters at Aspen Heights, Ann Dykstra and Hermina Hulstein at Pleasant Acres, and Harriet Kooiker at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. We also pray for their families as they support them.

 

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

      The 24th annual Western Christian Booster Club golf tournament will be held on Friday, August 14, at noon at the Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center. The cost to golf is $80 per person and that includes 18 holes of golf, cart, a meal afterwards, and the chance to win prizes. DORDT COLLEGE FOOTBALL    invites the community to be part of the Host-A-Player program to help out-of-state football athletes connect with people from the area.
