HEARTFELT THANKS to Pastor Loren Kotman, Pastor Carl Klompien, and to you, members of Hull First CRC, for your loving encouragement, many cards and visits to our mother, Sally De Groot, before her passing and now to us after her home going. We rejoice with you that she is now in her heavenly home, but we miss her presence here on earth. Sincerely, Daughter and Son, Helen & Gerv Bonnema and Larry De Groot and families
FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:
Rev. Carl Klompien will be stepping down as Pastor of Visitation at the end of July. He has faithfully served in this position since his retirement from being pastor of this church in 2004. We are grateful for the blessing that Rev. Klompien has been to so many over the years. We will acknowledge his years of service at a later date. The council has been searching for a replacement for some time and has decided to hire Larry Wielenga for the position. Larry will be installed as a Pastoral Care Elder on August 2. We are grateful for Larry’s gifts and his willingness to serve.
Congratulations to Zachariah and DaNae (Vant Hul) Froehlich who were united in marriage on Saturday. May God bless them with many happy healthy years together.
We extend our Christian sympathy to Walt and Lavonne den Hoed in the passing of Walt’s brother, Leo, a resident of Fort Collins, Colorado. Leo passed away on Monday.
Continue to remember Gary and Susan Roetman in your prayers as Gary struggles with gaining strength, appetite and with breathing. He receives fluids periodically to help stay hydrated.
Remember all those in our congregation who are confined to their homes as well as those in nursing homes or in assisted living as they are unable to have visitors at this time due to COVID-19. This is a difficult time for them so a phone call or a note from members of the congregation would be appreciated!
Give thanks that Diane Bonestroo’s foot is almost completely healed. The date for her thyroid surgery is yet to be determined.
LeRoy Jongetjes continues at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley as he waits for knee replacement surgery. Pray for patience and healing.
Give thanks that lab tests from Orv Vant Hul’s recent surgery showed no cancer. Pray for healing.
Pray for Esther Rozeboom as she adjusts to her new home. She moved to Friendly Horizons in Sioux Center on Wed., July 1. Her address is Friendly Horizons, 645 1st Ave., SW, Room 110, Sioux Center, IA 51250.
Jarvis De Wild had an appointment with his oncologist recently. A recent CT scan showed that he has two enlarged lymph nodes. It is uncertain if they are benign or cancerous. He will have a repeat CT scan in three months to see if the lymph nodes have grown. Pray for good health for Jarvis and for good results from his next CT scan.
Pray for our shut ins: PA: Verne Huisman, Chuck & Darlene Kroese; Aspen Heights: Joyce De Vries, Wilma Grevengoed, Al & Jacoba Rens, Jo Westra, Goldie Veldman; Hegg Health Center: LeRoy Jongetjes; Sheldon Care Center: Julianne Kats; Friendly Horizons: Esther Rozeboom; Royale Meadows in Sioux Center: Ed Scholten; Sioux City: Ardelle Westra.
HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS
Bev Altena will be having a hysterectomy on Monday, July 20, at Avera McKennan Hospital. She has been diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Bev says she has complete peace with this upcoming surgery and the cancer diagnosis but asks for prayers for her and Aldie and that the surgery will go well.
We give thanks that Sherry Kooiker is feeling much better as she has recovered from her recent bout with Covid-19. She is regaining energy and feeling better by the day. Her surgery is scheduled for the end of this month.
Bill Heynen is improving after being hospitalized with complications due to Covid-19. Earlier this week he was diagnosed with pneumonia and was transferred to Sioux Falls. He has responded well to treatment and has been moved from ICU to another room. The hope is that he can either be transferred to a lower care as he gains his strength or maybe that he can return home. We pray for his continued recovery.
Gary Roetman, father of Matt Roetman, continues to be treated for cancer. We pray he responds well to treatment and for healing. We pray for his wife, Susan, and family as they support him.
We pray for our families. Some have significant challenges in their lives for a variety of reasons. Let us pray for peace, stability, healing, and restoration.
We pray for those who join us in worship from their homes. Whether they are unable to attend or are taking appropriate precautions due to age or illness, we pray for the Lord’s presence and care in their lives.
