WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Welcome to worship and this precious time of sabbath rest. Grace and peace be to you from God our Father and his Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is from Jonah 4 titled “Jonah’s Pity Party”.

BIBLE LEAGUE CHRISTMAS in July will be held Monday, July 29, at 1:30p at the Faith Reformed Church of Rock Valley. You are asked to bring an item such as baked goods, crafts, plants, etc., to place on the silent auction tables. You will be given time to view the items and place your bids. Sheri Ten Napel and Katie Haan will share what they experienced on their trip with Bible League International to Nicaragua. Hope to see many of you at this event.

GOSPEL MISSION: Our church is responsible for the Chapel Service at the Union Gospel Mission on Wednesday, July 31. They request your presence at 6:45p so that chapel can begin promptly at 7:00p. Care Groups 3&4 are in charge. Meet at the church, lower parking lot, at 5:30p to car pool.

THE BOYDEN/HULL SACK PACK BOARD is looking for a few more team members. The Sack Pack program provides sacks of food for kids at Boyden-Hull and Hull Christian to take home every weekend throughout the school year. The team members help line up groups to pack the sacks and meet about once a year to go over the program. The new members should be available to help out with groups who would like to pack during the daytime hours during the school year. If you are interested in being a part of the Sack Pack team or would like more information, contact one of the Sack Pack board members. Congratulations to Jesse and Amber Vande Weerd on the birth of a son, Gabriel (Gabe) James, born on Wednesday morning, July 24.

Tena Leusink broke her leg on Saturday, July 20, and had surgery to set it the following morning. Pray for God’s healing.

Pete Pollema is scheduled for a procedure on Tuesday in Sioux Falls to stop some internal bleeding. Pray for good results and for healing.

Jarvis De Wild continues with radiation and chemo treatments. Pray the treatments will be effective and that the side effects will be minimal. Pray for healing.

Wilmar Pollema continues with chemo. Give thanks that the treatment is going well.

Give thanks that the tube removal procedure went well for Russ Vander Schaaf on Wednesday. Pray that Russ continues to gain strength.

Give thanks that the recent CT scan for Gary Roetman was clear. Continue to pray that Gary will get stronger.

Give thanks that surgery went well for Sharon Soodsma on Wednesday.  Pray for complete healing.

Julianne Kats continues as a resident at Pleasant Acres. Pray for healing as she recovers from a compression fracture in her vertebrae.

Lora Vis was able to return home from the hospital this week Tuesday. We pray for progress and healing.

We keep Paul and Lora Vis and family in our prayers as they remember and mourn the passing of Paul’s brother, Marv Vis. His funeral was held earlier this week. May God provide His comfort and care.

We keep Julie Horstman in our prayers as she continues her recovery from a broken leg. Please pray for her healing, encouragement, and patience.

Gerrit Van Der Zwaag, father of Cal Van Der Zwaag, continues his recovery. He hopes to be transferred to Sioux Center hospital soon. We pray for daily healing and progress. We pray for Cal and family as they support him.

We pray for those dealing with illness, healing from injuries or illness, and for those who may be struggling emotionally. May God provide healing and wholeness.

We remember Marv Boon at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. We pray for Eileen as well as she supports him. We also remember those who reside at home but aren’t able to join us from week to week. We also pray for their families as they support them.


      Western: On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 9, 10, 11, Western Christian High School will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary of providing a high quality secondary Christian education to covenant youth. Western Christian would like to invite alumni, parents, and friends to celebrate God’s goodness through various activities you can find on the Western Christian website, 


      Western Booster Club: Get your foursome together for the 27th annual Western Christian Booster Club golf tournament that will be held on Friday, August 9, at noon at the Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center. The cost to golf is $100 per person and that includes 18 holes of golf, cart, supper, and the chance to win prizes. THE NAMI SUPPORT GROUP will meet in the Fireside Room of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center from 7-9p on Tuesday, August 6. Speaker: Mavis Anema, Sioux Rivers Mental Health and Disabilities Services Coordinator. Individuals and family members living with mental illness are welcome. SIOUX CENTER MOPS: Are you an expectant mother or the mother of a child/children up to 5 years of? Then Mother Of PreSchoolers is looking for you! Come join the Sioux Center MOPS group where you’ll find spiritual encouragement, friendship, brunch, and lots of coffee as well as childcare. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 9-11a September-May. Registration is August 6 from 4-7p at Central Park in Sioux Center. PLEASE BLESS Sioux Center MOPS by caring for children during meetings. We are looking for volunteers for the 2019-2020 season.  Please contact Vanessa Steiger at (712) 463-2004 if you are willing to help (background check required). Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, and we would appreciate the hours of 8:45-11:15a. Ages range from newborn to preschool. MOPS runs from September-May.

YOU ARE INVITED to a monthly community prayer meeting with a global focus on Wednesday, August 7, from 7:30-8:30p at Faith CRC in Sioux Center. We will meet in the youth room on the lower level. The global focus will be Southeast Asia and Buddhism. Future gatherings will be on the 1st Wednesday of each month and will be hosted and led by members of various local churches. There is a different global and local focus at each meeting. Come and check it out!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: It’s hot outside and Love INC Sioux County is “hot on the trail” of volunteers for our Love & Learn Transformational Ministry classes that will begin in September. If God has given you passion for service in the following areas we’d love to talk to you about ways to serve in our child care area, kitchen hospitality and personal mentors in the areas of finance and personal goal setting.
