WELCOME TO FIRST HULL May this time of worship and receiving God’s Word refresh and rejuvenate you for faithful living. Welcome all! A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

THIS MORNING Dennis Schrick will give a brief presentation on the work of the Gideons. An offering will be taken for the Gideons next Sunday, August 7.

IN HONOR OF Pastor Loren & Norma’s 40th wedding anniversary, cake will be served after the morning service. Everyone is welcome to join them in the church basement.

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is from Mark 4:35-41 titled “Jesus Calms the Storm”.

NEXT SUNDAY MORNING Carver and Maddox Kooima, sons of Travis and Megan, will receive the sacrament of baptism.

HULL KIDS’ CLUB has a display in the back of church. Sherry De Wit will be there to answer any questions you may have about the program. She will be in the back of church after morning worship. Feel free to stop, chat and pick up a donation request slip or volunteer and student registration form. Donations should be returned to the Kids’ Club table here at church no later than September 4th. Kids’ Club thanks you for your contributions and support for their program. It would not be a success without you!

KIDS’ CLUB is ready to kick off a new year and we need your help! We are looking for some food donations so we can feed the children a snack when they arrive at Kids’ Club. There are donation slips located in the back of church. If you are willing to help us, please take a donation slip and then return the purchased item(s) to the Kids’ Club basket in the back of church by Sunday, September 4th. Thank you so much for your support!

WE ARE SEEKING Youth Leaders for the upcoming school year. Come join a team who is passionate about our Youth Program. If you are interested, please contact one of the Youth Leaders: Scott Kroese, Waylon and Melissa Pollema, Amy and John Emerick and Sean and Stephanie Baccam.



Joyce Vander Well continues as a patient at Avera in Sioux Falls. Her physical health is declining. Pray for improved strength and clarity.

Heath Stoker will go in for a 4-year post Bone Marrow Transplant biopsy and testing on Tuesday, August 2. This is to ensure the chemo he is currently taking is still the most effective treatment plan for his Multiple Myeloma cancer.  Please pray for peace for Heath & Kayla and clear results.

Continue to pray for Taylyn Vander Schaaf in anticipation of her surgery scheduled for Friday, August 19. Pray that she remains healthy and gains more weight. She has a follow-up GI appointment on Friday, Aug. 5.

Remember Pete Soodsma in his struggle with Parkinson’s and depression.          

Continue to remember Carver and Maddox Kooima as they grow and develop.

Pray for Russ Vander Schaaf as he continues with cancer treatments. Pray for strength, energy, healing and relief from pain.  

Pray for Rick Van Hill as he continues to receive treatments. Pray that the treatments will be effective and that there will be minimal side effects. Pray for strength, energy, encouragement, and healing.

Pray for Howard and Marilyn Grevengoed as they adjust to their new home. Pray for strength for Howard and Marilyn.

We express our sympathy to the Steiger family in the sudden passing of Jim Vos (Jennifer Steiger’s father and Mark Steiger’s grandfather) from Washington.

Loren Van Otterloo has one remaining treatment in the beginning of August. He has once again been blessed with minimal side effects. Prayers that the treatment is effective to create the opportunity to have surgery to remove the tumor.

Please be in prayer for Jackie Covey and her family. We are thankful that she was able to complete her treatment plan this week. We pray for her and their team as they examine the next plans for her care.

We pray for those who are recovering from surgeries. We give thanks for those who have received good news and healing. We mourn with and plead for those who are dealing with difficult news.

We pray for our marriages, that God would encourage us as Husbands and Wives to love each other as Christ has loved His church.

We pray for those who are going through struggles, heart break, betrayal, confusion, and battling addiction.

We pray for those who worship from their homes. May they be filled with hope and feel included as part of our church family.

Pray for those in our community who are sick, dealing with pain, or those who have ongoing prayer concerns that they will return to good health and recover quickly.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Stud Finder Family Fun Night – Join Siouxland Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, August 4 from 5:00-6:30p at 712 Park St. in Alton and enjoy a free-will donation meal, bouncy house, and special time of Prayer & Thanksgiving at 5:30p! You’ll be able to meet the Hernandez family, tour the home under construction and view the artistic talents of everyone that sponsored and decorated a stud. We hope to see you there!

HABITAT SPONSOR A STUD! – Gather your friends, family, church group or business to sponsor one or more 2x4 studs for $100 each to help build the first Habitat House in Hospers! We will deliver the stud to you, so you can decorate it with Bible verses, encouraging words, prayers, pictures, etc. The decorated studs will be framed into the house, and everyone will be invited to a Stud Finder Event later on to see the studs and pray for the project. THE IRBC BASIC TRAINING COURSE in Reformed Biblical Counseling: Many of God’s people are suffering today from depression, anxiety, abuse, eating disorders, and more. Enrolling in the IRBC Training Course in Reformed Biblical Counseling will give you insights on how to effectively bring God’s Word to bear in the lives of suffering Christians. An information brochure and application can be obtained by typing “reformedbiblicalcounseling” in your internet word search. Registration deadline is August 24 (noon). Your prayers are needed!  There is an ever-growing need to get Christians trained to counsel in the light of God’s Word at all levels, from basic training to certified biblical counselors. Please fervently pray that the Lord will raise up students to register for the IRBC Basic Training Course this fall.
