WELCOME TO FIRST HULL We gather in gratitude for freedom to worship God in this land, intent on not taking this opportunity for granted. Welcome to worship, one and all. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 

GREETERS: When you are scheduled to greet and if that Sunday does not work for you, please find a replacement. If you are unable to find one, please call a member of the Evangelism committee.

THIS MORNING we will install our newly elected elders (Merlyn Kroese, Glen Scholten, Dave Te Slaa) and Deacons (Matt Bosma, Kyle Pollema, Eric Zomermaand). We thank the elders (Dave Kroese, Harry Meendering, Larry Wielenga) and deacons (Darren Bonestroo, Terry Jansma, Eric Haveman) who have finished their terms, for their faithful service.

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is taken from Jonah 3 titled “A Second Chance”.

LADIES & MEN who would like to help out at JFA on Tuesday, July 9, should meet in the upper parking lot at church at 12:45p to car pool.

PLEASANT ACRES: Our church is responsible for the service at Pleasant Acres on Thursday, July 11, at 7:15p. Care Groups 1&2 are in charge.

THE BANQUET is in need of silverware. If you have any extra that you would be willing to donate, you can place the silverware in the box marked “Banquet” in the narthex.

THE “SHARE” GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, July 18, at 6:00p at Homestead Commons in Hull. We will enjoy a potluck for supper, so please bring your favorite dish to pass. Please also consider bringing $5 to help cover expenses. Following our meal, we will hear a musical presentation from Ken Nielsen and family. Root beer floats will be provided for dessert. BIBLE LEAGUE CHRISTMAS in July will be held on Monday, July 29, at 1:30p at the Faith Reformed Church of Rock Valley. You are asked to bring an item such as baked goods, crafts, plants, etc., to place on the silent auction tables. You will be given time to view the items and place your bids. Sheri Ten Napel and Katie Haan will share what they experienced on their trip with Bible League International to Nicaragua. Hope to see many of you at this event.

THANK YOU for all the cards, meals, and visits after the birth of our son, Owen. We thank the Lord for blessing us with a healthy baby boy. Our family really appreciates all of the words of encouragement, prayers, and support we have received from the church. -Cory, Sherry, Marissa & Owen De Wit

COMMUNITY BULLETIN

FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:   

Jarvis De Wild continues with radiation and chemo treatments. Pray the treatments will be effective. Pray for healing.

Give thanks that recent tests for Wilmar Pollema yielded results that can be treated with medication. Continue to remember Wilmar in your prayers. Pray for strength and healing.

Russ Vander Schaaf continues to make progress. He is scheduled for a doctor’s appointment tomorrow for a checkup. Pray that Russ will have more energy.

Gary Roetman is scheduled for a CT scan on Tuesday.  Pray for a good report on Tuesday and if needed, that God will give wisdom to the doctors as to how to treat Gary.

Pray for Sharon Soodsma who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She will have more tests on Monday to determine a plan for treatment.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:

Marv Boon fell last Sunday evening and broke his hip. He had surgery on Monday morning. Please pray for his healing and that God gives him peace during this unsettling time for him. We pray for Eileen as well as she cares for her husband.

We keep Julie Horstman in our prayers as she continues her recovery from a broken leg. Please pray for her healing, encouragement, and patience.

Gerrit Van Der Zwaag, father of Cal Van Der Zwaag, continues his recovery at Sanford Hospital. We pray for daily healing and progress. We remember the Van Der Zwaag family as they support their parents.

We pray for those dealing with illness or continuing their recovery from surgery. We also pray for those who may be struggling emotionally. May God provide healing and wholeness.

We remember those who reside at home but aren’t able to join us from week to week. We also pray for their families as they support them.

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

      Western: On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 9, 10, 11, Western Christian High School will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary of providing a high quality secondary Christian education to covenant youth. Western Christian would like to invite alumni, parents, and friends to celebrate God’s goodness through various activities you can find on the Western Christian website, www.westernchristianhs.com. Registration for the Saturday night banquet closes Monday, July 22. Nearly 500 from all over the country have already registered so reserve your seat now.

      Western Booster Club: Get your foursome together for the 27th annual Western Christian Booster Club golf tournament that will be held on Friday, August 9, at noon at the Ridge Golf Course in Sioux Center. The cost to golf is $100 per person and that includes 18 holes of golf, cart, supper, and the chance to win prizes. REQUESTED ANNOUNCMENTS

MUSIC IN THE PARK: The First Ref. Church invites you to enjoy beautiful music during Music in the Park on Thurs., July 11, at Westside Park at 7:00p. Performers include Anna Gotland, Breanna Ten Pas, Bethany Dykstra (fiddle/violin), Dr. Dick  and Pat Jongewaard, Ukulele Medley (Carlie Hoekstra, Olivia Lanning, Rylee Waldner), and Lydia Van Kley, Free root beer floats will be served during the concert and a freewill offering will be taken for mission projects of the church. Bring a lawn chair.

UNION GOSPEL MISSION invites you to join them on July 12 at 7p for a time of cheer and to support our 7 men & women who will be graduating from the UGM’s “Thoroughly Furnished” discipleship program. Help us celebrate these graduates who have persevered over the past 6 months with Bible memorization, Christian curriculum, work therapy, and community outreach and witnessing. Come and be blessed!

KDCR presents Big Daddy Weave in concert on July 19! The concert will be held at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, July 19, at 7:00p. Doors will open at 6:00p for those with general admission tickets. Tickets can be purchased at ticketfly.com and soon will be on sale via cash purchase at the Dordt University Campus Store.

YOU ARE INVITED for one session or many at the Okoboji Bible Conference in Arnolds Park. Conference dates are August 3-11. The theme is “Imagine More” from Eph. 3:20.
