WELCOME TO FIRST HULL “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23ESV). Let us praise God for his never-ending mercies. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 




CONGRATULATIONS to Roger & Fran De Kruyf who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. The congregation is invited to join them in the church basement for cake and coffee following the morning service.




THIS EVENING we welcome Sherwyn Bolkema as he leads our evening worship service.




LADIES & MEN who would like to help out at JFA on Tuesday, July 10, should meet in the upper parking lot at 12:45p to car pool.




MUSIC IN THE PARK: You are invited to enjoy beautiful music during Music in the Park on Thursday, July 12, at Westside Park at 7:00p. Performers include Laura Bonestroo, The Singing Servants (Pastors Steve Bierly, Aaron Deutsch and Todd Zuidema), Ukulele Medley (Carlie Hoekstra, Olivia Lanning and Rylee Waldner), Sierra Nielsen and Jaden Van Schepen. Free root beer floats will be served during the concert and a freewill offering will be taken for mission projects of the church. Bring your lawn chairs. This event is sponsored by the Mission & Outreach Team of the First Reformed Church.




HABITAT HOME GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY will be on July 13 at 1:00p at 1713 6th Street in Hull. Please join Siouxland Habitat to give thanks to God for Him bringing this project together and to celebrate with the Brandon and Karla Van Lo family (partner family) for the start of their home. Everyone is welcome1




THE SHARE GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, July 19, at 6:00p at Homestead Commons. We will enjoy taverns and coney dogs for supper. Following our meal, we will hear a musical presentation from Ken Nielsen and family. Root beer floats will be served for dessert. THE BIBLE LEAGUE Christmas in July will be held on Monday, July 23, at 1:30p at our church. You are asked to bring an item such as baked goods, crafts, plants, etc., to place on the silent auction tables. You will be given time to view the items and place your bids. Andrew Earnshaw, a representative from the Bible League headquarters, will be here to speak to us about the work of Bible League International. Hope to see you there!








Ÿ  We extend our Christian sympathy to Rog and Carol Vis in the passing of a sister-in-law, Johanna (Mrs. Fred) Vis of Edgerton, Minnesota, who passed away on Monday.


Ÿ  We extend our Christian sympathy to Johanna (Mrs. Sid) Westra and family in the passing of a sister-in-law, Ruth Horstman, of Sioux Center on Tuesday.


Ÿ  Continue to pray for Duane Vande Griend. He is receiving immunotherapy and radiation. He will have same-day surgery on his leg on Wednesday at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City,


Ÿ  Heath Stoker finished chemo treatment this past week. The next step in his treatment begins in August. Continue to remember Heath and Kayla in your prayers.


Ÿ  Give thanks that Anthony Smit was able to return to Aspen Heights on Thursday. Continue to remember him in your prayers.


Ÿ  Give thanks that Melvin Van Otterloo is feeling better. The plan was for him to return to Pleasant Acres on Thursday.


Ÿ  We express our sincere appreciation for your thoughts, prayers, cards and visits for Belle’s recent surgery and as she continues to recover.


Ÿ  Continue to pray for Florence Kroese as she recovers from a fall.


Ÿ  Continue to keep Lisa Wiersma in prayer as she continues with her treatments.

Ÿ  Lee & Aysha De Groot and Scott de Boom are at the Youth Unlimited Prairie Service this week (July 7-14) as Planning Team Leaders. High School students and their leaders from Canada, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa are all gathered at Friendship CRC in Sergeant Bluff.  The theme this year is “LOVE GOD, LOVE THE WORLD”. This is Lee & Aysha’s 5th year and Scott’s first year on the team. Please pray for them as they worship together, use their talents, and share the story of Jesus with those they come in contact with.


Ÿ  We pray for Jemma De Jong’s continued progress and healing and strength for the De Jong and Kooima families.


Ÿ  Wilma Heynen continues with her treatment for cancer. We pray that it will be effective and that she will be able to manage the side effects.


Ÿ  Joanne Buyert continues her recovery at Pleasant Acres. We pray for her continued strength so that she will be able to return to her apartment soon.


Ÿ  Karinda deBoom is in Guatemala on a service trip from June 29-July 8 serving with the art camp organization, “Authentikos I Am Art”. We pray for a good week and that the team will glorify God through their work. We pray for her safe arrival home.


Ÿ  Cruise De Groot has deployed to the Middle East. If you’d like to send him words of encouragement you can contact the De Groot’s for his address or message him through Facebook. Please pray for his safety and encouragement.


Ÿ  We pray for Dave and Doris Van Beek’s daughter Deanne and her family, Brian and Sage, as they will be spending the next six six weeks in Africa visiting countries to discern the location and timing for potential full time service there.


Ÿ  We remember our members who reside in care facilities: Marv Boon at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them.  




      The Bargain Alley Thrift Store will officially open for business on Thursday, July 12, at 10:00a in Hull. The store is located one block east of the downtown stop sign in Hull. A ribbon cutting event will be held at 9:00a. Please join the Western Christian community in the opening of this enterprise which will support Christian education. Check the Bargain Alley facebook site for normal store hours.


      Western is celebrating its 100th anniversary in August 2019. A book is being put together to commemorate this anniversary. As part of the book we would like to include memories from former and current students as well as former and current faculty.
