The doctor was pleased on Tuesday with the healing that Sharon Soodsma has experienced so far. Sharon will have an MRI to confirm that the infection is taken care of.

Give thanks that Sally De Groot is showing improvement.

Bennett Bruxvoort continues to show improvement following his knee replacement surgery. Pray for complete healing.

Remember all those in our congregation who are confined to their homes as well as those in nursing homes or in assisted living as they are unable to have visitors at this time due to COVID-19. This is a difficult time for them so a phone call or a note from members of the congregation would be appreciated!

Give thanks that healing for Diane Bonestroo’s foot is progressing well.

Continue to remember Gary Roetman in your prayers. Gary was scheduled to have a drain tube inserted in each lung on Thursday to drain fluid. He is on oxygen to help with breathing. He has trouble eating, drinking and talking due to weakness and difficulty breathing. Pray for ease in breathing, for the fluid in his lungs to stop and for Gary to get stronger. Pray the cancer infusion will work to build up his immune system to fight the cancer. Pray for “calm” as he rests in God’s Care!

Give thanks that Joyce De Vries is getting stronger and making good progress in her recovery.

Lois Salazar was able to begin her oral chemo last week. Pray for no side effects and the desired results of remaining in remission.

Berdena Bylsma fell on Friday, June 5, and broke some ribs. Pray for God’s healing mercies.

LeRoy Jongetjes is scheduled for knee replacement surgery on Friday, June 19, in Sioux Falls to replace a previous knee replacement. Pray that the surgery would go well and for healing.

Pray for our shut ins: PA: Verne Huisman, Chuck & Darlene Kroese; Aspen Heights: Joyce De Vries, Wilma Grevengoed, Al & Jacoba Rens, Goldie Veldman; Whispering Heights: Sally De Groot; Sheldon Care Center: Julianne Kats; Rick Rozeboom’s home: Esther Rozeboom; Sioux City: Ardelle Westra.

Gary Roetman, father of Matt Roetman, continues to be treated for cancer. We pray he responds well to treatment and for healing. We pray for his wife, Susan, and family as they support him.

Marion Van Soelen was hospitalized earlier this week after experiencing chills and overall weakness. After care and rest, he was able to return home this past Wednesday. We praise God for healing mercies and continue to pray for healing and strength.

We pray for our families. Some have significant challenges in their lives for a variety of reasons. Let us pray for peace, stability, healing, and restoration.

We pray for those who join us in worship from their homes. Whether they are unable to attend or are taking appropriate precautions due to age or illness, we pray for the Lord’s presence and care in their lives.

The week that local churches began live-streaming worship services was the week that Western Christian board members placed Spring Drive requests in church mailboxes. Spring Drive gifts are used for tuition relief and special needs at Western. As of this week we are grateful that over $50,000 has been donated to the Spring Drive towards our $90,000 goal. Many church members probably have not been picking up their mail from their church mailbox, but with churches opening up now we hope you will still make a gift to Western Christian. You can also make your gift electronically by clicking on and following the instructions given. The students, staff, and Board of Directors at Western thank you for your consideration.

NOTICE: We, the Ambassador Board of Cornerstone Prison church, have decided NOT to have our Benefit Banquet which was rescheduled for June 29, 2020. Please continue to keep this church behind the walls of the South Dakota State Penitentiary in your prayer as well as in your giving. Thank you! -Ambassador Board

PRAYER REQUEST FROM THE CRCNA: All CRC and their members are asked to remember the deliberations of the Special Meeting of the Council of Delegates in prayer this week. The COD will be meeting on behalf of synod (which was canceled because of COVID-19) on June 16&17 for plenary sessions. This includes the approval of this year’s candidates for minister of the Word. All decisions from this special meeting will be reported to Synod 2021. Your prayers for wisdom and discernment through the leading of the Spirit are appreciated.
