WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Sisters and brothers in Christ, welcome to this time and space apart, where we can turn our focus from self to God and from fear to faith. May you sense God’s gentle touch. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 


VALET PARKING: The council has approved providing Valet Parking year round. This will start today! Those scheduled should find a substitute if unable to be there at their assigned time. This is for the AM and PM service.


THIS MORNING Rev. David Smit will lead our worship services. Next Sunday Rev. Doug De Groot will lead our worship services.


NEXT SUNDAY we will partake of the Lord’s Supper. Let us use this week to reflect on the Lord’s great love for us and pray that this may bring us to respond in joy and obedience. PASTOR LOREN will be on vacation from Tuesday, May 29, through Tuesday, June 5. He will be leaving for Synod on Wednesday, June 6, and returning on Friday, June 15. In case of a special need, contact your Care Group Elder.


PRAY FOR SYNOD as it meets in Grand Rapids, MI from June 7-14. Delegates from classis Heartland are Rev. Nathan Kuperus, Elder Harvey Obbink, Deacon Keith Boersma and Rev. Loren Kotman.

PLEASANT ACRES SERVICE: Once again we have the opportunity to visit and worship with our senior citizens at Pleasant Acres. If you have a special musical talent or wish to share a brief message with them that would be wonderful! We are looking for volunteers Sunday, June 10, at 2:15p to do the message and special music for our elderly. If you wish to help out, contact Tim Kats at 712-578-9728. Thank you!

CROSSROADS TEENS ENCOUNTER CHRIST (TEC) is accepting applications for the upcoming weekend at the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. TEC is an interdenominational three day Christian retreat designed to help high schoolers learn more about their faith and their community. The next TEC is June 22-24.   • We extend our Christian sympathy to Theresa De Wit and family in the passing of a sister, Clare Kuhl, of Slayton, Minnesota on Saturday night, May 26. May God comfort this family in their loss.
  • Continue to pray for Florence Kroese as she recovers from a fall.
  • Lisa Wiersma is grateful for your prayers as she continues with chemo treatment. Give thanks that the side effects to the treatment have been minimal.

  • Congratulations to Shawn and Leah De Stigter on the birth of a son, Crew Philip, on May 27. Everyone is doing well!
  • Continue to keep Heath Bonestroo, Trent Hulstein and Phil Bosma in your prayers. Pray for continued healing.
  • Joanne Buyert continues her recovery at Pleasant Acres. She hopes to return back to her apartment when she is able. Pray for continued healing.
  • Wilma Heynen is undergoing more testing in order to find the most effective treatment. Recent tests will take two or three weeks to process. Please pray for clear answers, effective treatment, and complete healing.
  • Janet De Groot, mother of Doug De Groot, has moved to Royal Meadows in Sioux Center where she will continue her recovery.
  • We continue to pray for strength and healing for Jemma Jean De Jong, daughter of Sarah and Todd De Jong, and granddaughter of Diana and Dave Kooima. Jemma’s 2nd surgery is scheduled for June 7. Thanks for all your prayers! We pray this one will go as well as the last one!!
  • We keep Cruise De Groot in prayer as he prepares for his deployment on Saturday.
  • We remember our members who reside in care facilities: Marv Boon at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them.        



   Meat donation for HCS Rally Day Sale: For many years, we have been blessed with donations of beef and pork for our Rally Day Sale. If you would like to make a donation of meat to this year’s sale or give a donation towards purchasing meat and the processing costs, please contact Janelle De Wit (470-4121) or Jeremy Hulstein (439-2914).

   The 2nd Annual Western Christian FFA Tractor ride will be held Saturday, July 7. Registration begins in the north parking lot at Western Christian at 8:00a. Riders will be leaving at 8:30a.    Western Christian High School would like to thank all those who have contributed to the annual Spring Drive this year. Spring Drive gifts will be used for tuition relief and to help in the opening of the new Bargain Alley Thrift Store which will support Western Christian. Over $115,000 was raised which is far and away the most ever received for the Spring Drive.

HOPE HAVEN 23rd Annual Gospel Music Festival will be held at Central Park in Sioux Center on June 15&16 with continuous music from 1:00p-9:30p on Friday and from 11:00a-9:30p on Saturday. Currently 20 different groups from 5 states are scheduled to sing. This is a benefit for Hope Haven and freewill offerings will be taken each day. A lunch stand will be open both days. In case of inclement weather, the Music Festival will be held at the Rec Center on the campus of Dordt College.


KINGDOM BOUNDARIES Prison Aftercare Benefit Cook-Out at the Platte, SD CRC is Sat., June 9 from 5p-7:00p. Grilled meal with all the fixings (hamburgers, brats, beans and ice cream). The program will include a video explaining the ministry of Kingdom Boundaries Prison aftercare, resident testimonials and a ministry update. A freewill offering will be taken. KINGDOM BOUNDARIES: On June 10 at 7:00p at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley there will be testimonials, a ministry update followed by a hymn sing/ice cream social. RSVP to Mark at 470-6662 with your favorite hymn and also how many are coming.

TEENS NEEDED!! Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, Dodge – return to your recess days. Sign you and your friends up for the 1st Annual Hull Summerfest Dodgeball Tournament!! Tournament will be held at the Hull Westside Park on Wed., July 11, at 7:00p. Players must be 13-19 years old. Six player teams with a 3 girl minimum. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and also for best team costume! There is a $25 registration fee that is completely refunded at check-in on the night of the tournament. Stick around after the tournament for Pizza Ranch pizza and late night swimming at the Hull Pool!! Registrations can be found at Registrations are due June 30.
