WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Brothers and sisters in Christ, how good it is to gather to praise our God and hear his Word for us today! May God bless you during your time here. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. The young people making profession of faith will be serving cake this morning after the service.

THIS MORNING we have the privilege of hearing the public profession of faith of Chris Baccam, Skyler Bonestroo, Erika Feenstra, Justin Grevengoed, Samantha Pollema, Lee Rozeboom, and DaNae Van’t Hul.

THIS MORNING we take time to prepare for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper next Sunday. Anyone who is home bound and would like to partake of communion should contact Harlyn Bolkema (441-6875) or Dave Te Slaa (439-2370).

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is taken from Galatians 1 titled “The Sufficiency of Scripture”.

VOLUNTEERS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED!!: Our church is scheduled to serve the evening meal at the Banquet in Sioux Falls this coming Wed., June 8. We need 40 people (only 12 have signed up) to serve the meal (be at the Banquet at 5:15p). Prayerfully consider helping out with this worthwhile project. A sign-up sheet is located on the narthex table.

OFFERING: Our church is partnering with Faith CRC in Sioux Center to deliver two 30,000 bushel grain bins to Laos. These will be the largest bins in Laos, and are an integral part of the Christian Harvest Center movement in Laos. The offering next Sunday will be taken to defray the costs of transportation and also help purchase other necessary equipment. More details are in your mailbox. Thank you for your generous support!

THE SHARE GROUP for widows/widowers will meet on Thursday, June 16, at 6:00p at the HOMESTEAD COMMONS in Hull. We will have a picnic potluck. Everyone bring your favorite picnic dish. Congratulations to Jacob & Abby (Veldman) Koedam who were united in marriage on Friday. We wish them the Lord’s blessings as they begin their life together.

Remember Sherry & Cassidy Vant Hul and the serve team from Hope CRC as they minister this week in Guatemala. Pray for health, safety and that they will be a great blessing.

Bette Marra is scheduled to begin chemo treatments on June 9 in Sioux City. Pray for God’s healing mercies.

Give thanks that Don Westra is back home from the hospital. Pray for continued strength and better health. Pray for Jo as she cares for him.

Cliff Koele was admitted to Mayo Clinic late Monday night with infection in his hip area. Successful surgery to remove the hip and insert a block took place on Wednesday. Surgery for a new hip will take place in 3 months. Pray for God’s healing mercies.

We extend our sympathy to Nella Driesen (Care Group 1B), Brad & Nancy Driesen (Care Group 2A), Austin Vink and their families in the passing of her brother, uncle and grandfather, Marv Klomp, 83, of Rock Valley. The funeral was held this past Wednesday. May God grant his comfort and peace.

Lyle Boer (Care Group 5B) underwent knee replacement surgery this past Tuesday at Dakota Dunes. We pray for her in her recovery.

We keep Tyson Boer (Care Group 2A) in our prayers as he recovers from surgery which repaired his broken nose.

Please be in prayer for Elijah Vande Griend, son of Benji and Mindy Vande Griend (Care Group 1A), who continues his recovery from surgery.

We pray for Dave Mulder, his wife, Joy, and their family, Jackson, Kendra, and Elijah. Dave is Marideth Van Otterloo’s (Care Group 2B), brother-in-law. Dave has received a diagnosis of Acute Myeliod Leukemia (AML). He has started chemotherapy. We pray for healing and for God’s peace in their lives.

Please pray for the Paradise Bound Serve Team as they begin their service trip to Guatemala this week. We pray for safety in their travel and work this week.

We pray for Joel & Christina Barkel as they begin their service with the Peace Corps in Rwanda for the next 2-1/2 years.

We also continue to remember our members who reside in care facilities: Hermina Hulstein and Mary Grooters at Pleasant Acres, Marv Boon at Fieldcrest in Sheldon, and Harriet Kooiker at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. We also pray for their families as they support them.


           Western Christian Booster Club is hosting a Burger-Brat Fry prior to the Unity-Western Softball and Baseball games in Hull on Tuesday, June 14, at 5:00p.

      Western: The summer office hours at Western will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00a to 1:00p.

       HCS Rally Day Sale: For many years, we have been blessed with donations of beef and pork for our Rally Day Sale. THE “NAMI” SUPPORT GROUP will meet in the Fireside Room of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center from 7:00-9:00p on Tuesday, June 7. “Minds on the Edge: Part 2” will be viewed and discussed. For information, call Shirley Matheis at 722-4462.

THE MEMORY LOSS SUPPORT GROUP will be meeting on Wednesday, June 8, at 1:00p at Whispering Heights. This Support Group is open to anyone who lives with or cares for someone affected by dementia of any kind. For more information, please contact Melinda at 476-8214. New members are always welcome!

JOIN SIOUXLAND HABITAT for Humanity for a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Thursday, June 9, at 12:00p at 703 5th St. in Ireton. We will give thanks to God for Him bringing this project together and celebrate with the Brandi Adams’ family (partner family) for the start of their home. Everyone is welcome!

SIOUX COUNTY AMERICAN CANCER RELAY FOR LIFE will be held June 10 in Sioux Center. Luminary bags are available at American State Bank, Iowa State Bank and Hull Pharmacy. Pick one up, decorate it, fill out the form, enclose a donation and return by June 8. It’s a wonderful way to honor or remember a loved one who has been touched by cancer. HOPE HAVEN’S 21st Annual Gospel Music Festival will be held at Central Park in Sioux Center on June 17&18 from 11:30a-10:00p on Friday and 10:30a-10:00p on Saturday. Currently 22 different groups from 6 states are scheduled to sing! The Music Festival is a benefit for Hope Haven and freewill offerings will be taken each day. A lunch stand will be open both days. In case of inclement weather, it will be held at Dordt College.

LOVE INC of Sioux County is looking for a ministry oriented person to help in the Clearinghouse and provide administrative support to the Executive Director. This position is for mornings Tuesday, Friday and a flex day (12 hr/wk) requires a heart for people, established computer skills and a desire to be part of a team working to show Love In the Name of Christ.
