WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Welcome to Pentecost Day worship! As we celebrate how the Holy Spirit called Christ’s church into being, let us keep eyes and hearts open to how the Spirit is working today. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. 

GREETERS: When you are scheduled to greet and if that Sunday does not work for you, please find a replacement. If you are unable to find one, please call a member of the Evangelism committee.

WE WELCOME Rev. Dan De Groot from Rock Valley as he leads our worship services today.

PASTOR LOREN will be gone through Tuesday, June 11. In case of a special need call your Care Group Elder.

NEWLY ELECTED Elders & Deacons are requested to meet with the Council at 8:00p on Monday, June 10, to elect new officers for the year.

NEXT SUNDAY MORNING we hear and celebrate the Professions of Faith of Jaiden Bonestroo, Dawson Feenstra, Mackelle Grevengoed, Marcus Te Krony, Colin Westra, Amanda Wiersma, and Mitch Winterfeld.

INSTALLATION of newly elected Elders and Deacons will take place on Sunday morning, July 7th.

ON TUESDAY, JUNE 11, we invite you all to enjoy the Relay for Life of Sioux County in Hawarden at the Community Center Gazebo. Our Relay will begin at 5:30p with all invited to enjoy supper! (Free will donation appreciated). Survivors are welcome to come and register, get their 2019 Survivor Pin, a T-shirt, and enjoy a free meal. Relay Opening Ceremonies will begin at 7:00p and Luminaria will be lit at dusk. In between, we will have fun games, songs, activities and community fun while we fight cancer together! In Hull, Luminaria bags can be purchased at Lewis Drug, American State Bank and Iowa State Bank. Thank you for your support!

SYNOD 2019 meets at Calvin College in Grand Rapids June 14-20. Classis Heartland delegates are Rev. Bob Drenten (Immanual CRC-Orange City), Rev. Jesse Walhof (Living Water Community Church-Sheldon), Elder Duane Walhof (Calvin CRC-LeMars), and Deacon Keith Boersma (Sibley CRC). Please pray for the Lord’s wisdom and leading, for the work of synod and for our delegates in particular.

THE BANQUET is in need of silverware. If you have any extra that you would be willing to donate, you can place the silverware in the box, marked “Banquet”, in the narthex.

LADIES/MEN who are able to help out at JFA on Tuesday, June 11, meet in the upper parking lot of church at 12:45p to car pool.

SKYLER BONESTROO and the rest of Northwestern College’s 2019 Wrestling Team will be leaving tomorrow for the Czech Republic. Pray for them and the people they meet. Pray that through their service and Christ like example, people will be encouraged and that the gospel will be made known. They will return on June 24.

THE “SHARE” GROUP for widows/widowers will meet on Thurs., June 20, at 6:00p at Homestead Commons. We’ll enjoy taverns & coney dogs for supper. Following our meal, we’ll play table games together. THANK YOU: We would like to thank Care Group #2 for the wind chime. Thanks to Pastor Kotman and Ed Haveman for their calls and visits after mom passed away. COMMUNITY BULLETIN

FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:   

Congratulations to Cory and Sherry De Wit on the birth of a son, Owen James, born Friday, May 31.

Jim Keizer will be having knee replacement surgery on Tuesday, June 11, at the Vet’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. Pray for successful surgery.

Jarvis De Wild will have six weeks of radiation and chemo starting in June. He will most likely have surgery at a later date. Pray for Jarvis and Shari during this time.

Gerald Kroese continues as a resident at Pleasant Acres and is now under hospice care. Continue to remember him in your prayers.

Give thanks that recent tests for Wilmar Pollema yielded results that can be treated with medication. Continue to remember Wilmar in your prayers. Pray for strength and healing.

Continue to pray that Russ Vander Schaaf will get stronger as he anticipates surgery on June 13. At this point doctors are planning a less complicated surgery.

Give thanks that Gary Roetman is gaining and that his vision is improving. Continue to remember him in your prayers.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS: 

Congratulations to Maria (Heynen) and Aaron De Boer who were married this past Friday. We pray for the Lord’s blessing as they begin their married life together.

We keep Julie Horstman in our prayers as she continues her recovery from a broken leg. Please pray for her healing, encouragement, and patience.

Gerrit Van Der Zwaag, father of Cal Van Der Zwaag, continues his recovery at Sanford Hospital. We pray for daily healing and progress. We remember the Van Der Zwaag family as they support their parents.

We pray for those dealing with illness or continuing their recovery from surgery. We also pray for those who may be struggling emotionally. May God provide healing and wholeness.

We remember Marv Boon at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City. We also remember those who reside at home but aren’t able to join us from week to week. We also pray for their families as they support them.

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

      HCS is accepting applications for a part-time paraprofessional. The position will require working with students and assisting a teacher in the classroom.       Western Christian High School FFA Chapter is hosting their 3rd annual Tractor Ride on Saturday, June 29. Registration begins in the north parking lot at Western at 7:30a with the riders leaving at 8:30a. The cost of the ride is $50 and $5 for additional riders. The route will be through Rock Valley to Inwood and back to Hull. Your registration includes a continental breakfast, a goody bag, snack and rib eye sandwich lunch. THE MEMORY LOSS SUPPORT GROUP will be meeting on Wednesday, June 12, at Whispering Heights. This Support Group is open to anyone who lives with or cares for someone affected by dementia of any kind. For more information, please contact Melinda at 476-8214. New members are welcome!

HOPE HAVEN’S 24th Annual Gospel Music Festival will be held at Central Park in Sioux Center on Friday & Saturday, June 21&22. There will be continuous music from 1:00-9:30p on Friday and from 11:00a-9:30p on Saturday. Currently 20 different groups from 5 states are scheduled to sing! The Gospel Music Festival is a benefit for Hope Haven and freewill offerings will be taken each day. A lunch stand will be open both days. In case of inclement weather, the Music Festival will be held at the Rec Center on the campus of Dordt College.

CORNERSTONE PRISON CHURCH Faith Fellowship Weekend: Friday, July 12, 6:00-7:45p & July 13&14, 7:15a-4:00p each day. The theme for the weekend is “A Closer Walk with Christ” based on Colossians 2:6-7. “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness. Join us for worship, large group talks and small group discussions. The deadline for signing up is Sunday, June 23. We would be happy to have you join us for part of the weekend or all of it.
