WELCOME TO FIRST HULL “I will bless you…so that you will be a blessing,” said God to Abram. May each of us gathered this morning be blessed so we may go out and bless others. Welcome! A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

THIS MORNING we welcome Rev. David Smit from Sioux Center as he leads our worship service. This evening we welcome Robert Miedema from Orange City as he leads our worship service.

PASTOR LOREN & NORMA are attending the Ligonier Conference (RC Sproul) in Orlando and will be returning Tuesday, March 14. In case of a special need, call your Care Group Elder.

STUDENTS INTERESTED IN MAKING PROFESSION OF FAITH: Pastor Loren will offer a pre-confession class beginning the first Sunday in April. Please let Pastor Loren know if you are interested in attending the class: pastor@hull1stcrc.com or 439-1123.

LADIES: if you’d like to volunteer at JFA on Tues., Mar. 14, meet in the upper parking lot at 12:45 to car pool.

THE CHURCH is willing to provide a hearing aide mechanism to any congregation member who is in need of one in order to better hear the church service. Contact Terry Jansma (470-0033) with any questions.

NEXT SUNDAY EVENING Hannah Joy Kroese, daughter of Eric & Bobbie Kroese, will receive the sacrament of baptism.

THE COUNCIL is seeking nominations for Elders and Deacons. If you feel called to serve or know of someone you believe is well equipped for these positions, please contact a council member by March 13th. The Council asks that you pray for God’s guidance as we go through the nomination process.

THE “SHARE” GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, March 16, at 6:00p at Homestead Commons (note change in venue as previously discussed). We will order in pizza from the Pizza Ranch for supper. Darla Etten will be with us to demonstrate how she taps and prepares maple syrup. COMMEMORATION of the Annual Day of Prayer is scheduled for Wed., March 22, at Hope CRC at 7:00p.

GIRLS AND WOMEN, ages 8-88+, join the GEMS Girls Clubs for an evening of fitness and fun. Come for a night of REFIT fitness on Wednesday, March 22, in the gym of Hull Christian. THANK YOU for your prayers these past couple months. There were a number of times when I wasn’t sure about the next step when there would be a card, an email of encouragement or scripture from a church member. It was a reminder that God is in control of this situation and I am thankful for a diagnosis that is treatable. My sister-in-law Katy and I are so grateful for all your prayers and support! –Maria Kotman

SAVE THE DATE: The YPS would like to invite all Senior Citizens to a night of games, fellowship and food on Wednesday, March 29, at 7:00p at the Youth Building.

MINNIKOTA YOUTH & DORDT invite 6th-8th graders to the 7th Annual Jr. High Retreat April 7-9 at Inspiration Hills. This is an opportunity for students to come together and worship, serve, and meet new friends. Dordt students will become the students’ small group leaders, as well as lead in song, worship, games, service and drama. Neighbors, grandchildren, or family friends (6th-8th grade) are also welcome to attend. This retreat will work into every scenario. Registrations are in church mailboxes. FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:

Ÿ Liz Schmith had successful back surgery on Monday at Dakota Dunes. Pray for God’s healing.

Ÿ Esther Rozeboom was able to return to Aspen Heights on Monday and is doing well.

Ÿ Eldon De Wild will hear on Monday, March 13, if he is accepted for a transplant.

Ÿ Faye Kroese had successful surgery on Wednesday at Avera. Plans were for her to be dismissed either Thursday or Friday. Pray for continued healing.

Ÿ Gert Zevenbergen continues under the care of hospice at Pleasant Acres. Pray that Gert will be comfortable.

Ÿ Pray for our shut ins: Audrey Jongetjes, Florence Kroese, and Melvin Van Otterloo at Pleasant Acres; Wilma Altena, Julianne Kats, Esther Rozeboom, Goldie Veldman, and Anthony Smit at Aspen Heights; Don Westra in his home, Sally De Groot at Landsmeer Ridge Community in Orange City, and Ardelle Westra in Sioux City.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:

Ÿ Bob Marks was admitted to the hospital earlier this week for a heart procedure. He received two stents. He is now recovering at home. We pray for healing and strength.

Ÿ We pray for continued healing for Henk Pastoor, father of Vanessa Steiger, as he recovers from surgery for colon cancer.

Ÿ We pray for continued healing and strength for Dave Mulder, brother in law to Mike and Merideth Van Otterloo

Ÿ We remember our members who reside in care facilities: Mary Grooters at Pleasant Acres, Marv Boon at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them.

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Western Christian High School invites all 8th graders, regardless of their high school plans, to visit Western Christian on Eighth Grade Day. It will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 3:00p. Western will provide transportation for all the students to attend and parents are asked to join their 8th grader at Western that evening. If parents are not able to attend, we would be glad to arrange transportation home for any student. All parents are invited to come to Western at 5:30p for a free meal, displays, and tours. Hull Christian School is accepting applications for a resource room teacher. Applications can be found on our webpage or by contacting school. Applicants should contact Principal Randy Ten Pas at 439-2273 or email rtenpas@hullchristian.com with any questions.

Western Vocal music department and the Jazz Band will present a concert on Thurs., March 16, at 7:00p. The concert will include a wide assortment of songs from traditional to pops and jazz. Please join us for an enjoyable evening of music.

DORDT COLLEGE Chamber Orchestra and Concert Band invite you to a concert at 7:30p on Friday, March 17. Directed by Dr. Bradley Miedema, the ensembles will perform a wide variety of instrumental selections to contemporary wind band pieces. A freewill offering will be received to help defray tour expenses.

OPERA Iowa is coming to Sioux Center to perform Rossini’s comedic masterpiece, The Barber of Seville (sung in English). The education touring troupe will present the 2 hour performance on Tuesday, March 21, at 7:30p in the Dordt Auditorium. This family friendly performance is free and open to the public.

LOVE, INC is holding its Annual Meeting on Tues., Mar. 21, at 7:00p in our office at 962 Westview Drive, just west of Dollar General. Please join us as we meet to discuss how the Lord has used the church to bless the people of Sioux County in 2016. Refreshments will be served!! We would love to see you!

AG SUMMIT 2017: The community is invited to attend “Thou Shalt Not Kill-What’s the Christian Response to the New Food Movement” on Wed., March 22, from 8:15-noon at Dordt.
