WELCOME TO FIRST HULL: God is rich in mercy, loves you greatly, makes you alive through Christ (Ephesians 2:4-5) and welcomes you to this time of worship and fellowship. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

WE WELCOME Dr. Wayne Kobes from Sioux Center as he leads our worship service today. Pastor Loren has a classical appointment at First CRC in Sheldon.

PASTOR LOREN & NORMA will be attending the Ligonier Conference this week in Orlando. They will be leaving on Monday, March 15, and returning on March 22. In case of a special need, you may contact your care group elder or our Elder of Visitation, Larry Wielenga.

SAVE THE DATE! The Christian Ed Auction & Supper (Concession Stand featuring pulled pork sandwiches, pizza, chips, popcorn and beverages) is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31st beginning with supper at 5:30p. Have you thought of an item that you can contribute toward the auction? Some suggestions might include baked goods, home décor, dinners, clothing apparel, toys, gift certificates, game night, etc. Give Lisa Kats a call (441-5642) with your donation and she will get your item on the list. A list of contributed items will be in your mailbox in the next couple of weeks. Reminder to each family with kids in school to bring some kind of baked goods (bars, cookies, puppy chow, etc.) to sell at the concession stand. Let’s make this a fun/exciting night for everyone!

THE SHARE GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, March 18, at 6:00p at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3 miles north and 2 miles east of Hull. We will enjoy hot ham and cheese sandwiches with sides for supper. Following our meal, we will be treated to a concertina program from Gary Siebring and Joan Johnson of George. MEMBERSHIP TRANSFER: The communicant memberships of Noah and Susan De Yager and baptized children Talan, Ashton, and Mylee were transferred, at their request, to the Faith Reformed Church in Rock Valley. We wish them God’s blessing in their new church home.

John Bolkema returned home from the Sioux Center Hospital on Wednesday. Pray for strength.

Give thanks that John Scholten is getting stronger. Pray for other health challenges that John is dealing with.  

Jacoba Rens continues as a patient in the Sioux Center hospital. She has pneumonia and an infection in the incision from her recent surgery. Pray for healing.

Pray for Dave Kroese as he continues to recover from back surgery (lumbar fusion).

Continue to remember Carol Reekers as she receives treatments. Pray for wisdom for the doctors as they treat her and for healing for Carol.

Lindsey Pfingsten had surgery on Thursday to remove a benign tumor on her leg and to repair a tear in a hip muscle. Pray for healing. Give thanks that the tumor was benign.

Jarvis De Wild was placed on hospice care on Wednesday. Please pray the Lord takes him quickly. He is so ready to be with his Lord and Savior. Pray for Jarvis, Shari and the rest of the family. Call Shari (470-4259) before you visit.

Pray for all those in this congregation and beyond who are struggling with Covid.

Remember all those in our congregation who are confined to their homes as well as those in nursing homes or in assisted living as they are unable to have visitors at this time due to COVID-19. This is a difficult time for them so a phone call or a note from members of the congregation would be appreciated!

Jerry Van Roekel’s father, Gerald, was hospitalized last week in Sioux City. Pray for strength.

Cody Bauer’s mom suffered a stroke last Saturday evening and was airlifted to Sioux Falls. We pray for her healing and recovery.

Please pray for Vanessa Steiger as she has eyelid surgery on March 15. Pray for a quick recovery and improved vision.

Please remember Sarah Fykstra and her family as she recovers from surgery. Pray for radiation treatments to work well as she looks forward to treatment in a few weeks.

Please be in prayer for Lee & Wanda Talsma as they recover from COVID. Lee’s back surgery has been tentatively rescheduled for April 14th. Pray for successful surgery.

We remember Leo, son of Greg and Jasmine Boer. The procedure to fuse that gap is scheduled for March 16.

We continue to pray for those who are affected by Covid-19.

We pray for our council, guest pastors, and the search for a new pastor.

We pray for those who join us in worship from their homes. Whether they are unable to attend or are taking appropriate precautions due to age or illness, we pray for the Lord’s presence and care in their lives.


   Updated list of job opening at HCS:  There are several openings for the 2021-2022 school year. HCS is accepting applications for a part-time first grade teacher, full-time first grade teacher, part-time para-professional, part-time librarian and athletic director. There is potential to combine some of these part-time positions into full time. Applications can be found on our webpage ( or by contacting school.    HCS Society Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 17, at 7:30p in the music room.

   Hull Christian School Carry-Out Supper: HCS will be hosting a carry-out pulled pork supper this year to replace our annual Hostess Supper Fundraiser. It is Wednesday, March 24, from 5:00-7:00 PM. It is a free-will donation. Order online at or call the school at 439-2272. Orders are due March 16th. Pick up will be in the airlock on the west side of the HCS Building. The funds from the supper will be used for new science tables in the discovery room and a new bottle filling drinking station. Delivery will be available for those who are unable to pick it up and who live in Hull. Let us do the cooking for you!


LOVE INC, SIOUX COUNTY will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, March 15, at 6:30p at Trinity CRC (Agape Room) in Rock Valley. Partner churches, volunteers and donors are invited to hear about what God has done in 2020 through Love INC and how God is leading us in 2021. Refreshments will be served.

ROYAL FAMILY KIDS CAMP NWIA is looking for volunteers for our 2021 camp. This camp has touched every heart that has ever entered it (campers and volunteers)! God has always provided for this camp through churches and in miraculous ways. The dates for the 2021 camp are August 2 through August 6. DORDT MUSIC DEPARTMENT: The Joan Ringerwole Organ Recital Series presents concert organist Ken Cowan in two upcoming events: 1) Masterclass on “Dance Forms in the Solo Instrumental Music of Johann Sebastian Bach” on Friday, March 26 at 3:00p in the auditorium and 2) Organ Recital on Sat. March 27, in the auditorium. Regarded as one of North America’s finest concert organists and praised for his dazzling artistry, impeccable technique, and imaginative programming by audiences and critics alike, Ken Cowan maintains a rigorous performing schedule that takes him to major concert venues in America, Canada, Europe, and Asia. His performance at Dordt is part of the Ringerwole Organ Recital Series, which is currently in its eighth year. The performance is free and open to the public. Masks are required for those attending and seating groups will be socially distanced. Dordt continues to monitor how COVID-19 affects our campus and community.
