FIRST CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH

WELCOME TO FIRST HULL Let us come into God’s presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!” (Psalm 95:2 ESV).  A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

REMINDER: We have ceased all handshake greeting until further notice. Greeters will still be available prior to the service to welcome you and Elders will greet you after the service but will NOT shake your hand.

THE 11TH & 12TH GRADE Sunday School class will not meet this morning.

WE WELCOME Pastor Klompien as he leads our worship service this evening. His message is from Matthew 7:13-28 titled “The Fruit Will Tell”.

ASPEN HEIGHTS is requesting no visitors at all until further notice.

PLEASANT ACRES is under a preventative quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. No visitors allowed.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, many different faith-based camps, retreats, and events are held. Hull 1st CRC encourages our youth to grow in their faith by taking advantage of these opportunities. Financial assistance is available from the deacons. Due to the varied costs of each event, support is evaluated on a case by case basis. We encourage you to reach out to your care group deacon to request financial assistance. -The Deacons

NEXT SUNDAY MORNING Trinity Christian College Concert Choir (and within that a 12-person honor ensemble) under the direction of Dr. Helen Van Wyck will be participating in our service as part of a concert choir tour in Iowa. In conjunction with this, they are requesting help with housing for Saturday and Sunday night. If you are able to help out, please call the church office (439-1626) for additional information.

PASTOR LOREN & NORMA will be at a retreat center this week in northern Illinois. They will be returning on Monday evening, March 23. In the event of a special need, call your Care Group Elder.

REMINDER! The Christian Ed Auction & Supper is scheduled for Wed., April 8th. Give Lisa Poppema a call (441-0913) with your donation and she will get your item on the list. Let’s make this a fun/exciting night!

THE “SHARE” GROUP for widows/widowers will meet on Thurs., March 19, at 6:00p at Homestead Commons. Note we are back to meeting at our evening time through Fall. We’ll enjoy pancakes & sausages for supper. If you had not volunteered to bring food, please consider bringing $5 to help cover expenses. Following our meal, we will play table games together. FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:

Ezra Schroeder, infant son of Evan and Rachel, returned home from the hospital on Tuesday. Give thanks for God’s healing mercies.

We extend our Christian sympathy to LeRoy Jongetjes in the passing of his brother, Roger Jongetjes, of Rock Valley on Wednesday. Funeral services were held on Friday.

Dennis Kroese continues at Pleasant Acres recovering from a fractured kneecap. He hopes to return home soon. Pray for healing.

As of Thursday, Sally De Groot is a resident at Whispering Heights in Rock Valley. She is in Creek Side, Room 15. Visitors are not allowed at this time.  

Continue to remember Jarvis De Wild in your prayers. His esophagus was stretched and a stent inserted to maintain the stretch. He had chemo treatment 11 on Monday. His last treatment is scheduled for the 23rd.

Pray for Marilyn Grevengoed as she continues to recover from hip replacement surgery. She is thankful for improvement and for all of your care and concern.  

Continue to remember Lois Salazar in your prayers. Her last treatment was this past Thursday. Pray for good results and continued healing.

Sandy Starkenburg is scheduled for surgery on March 31 at Avera in Sioux Falls. Pray the surgery will go well and for complete healing.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS

We pray for those who are unable to join us for worship from week to week due to age, injury or illness, or dealing with long term physical or emotional challenges. We pray for the Lord’s encouragement, restoration, and presence in their lives.

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEME NTS

   HCS: If you are interested in making a positive impact on students and the many other benefits of working in a Christian environment, we might have the job for you. HCS is accepting applications for a middle school Language Arts Teacher, part-time PE Teacher and part-time Paraprofessional.    HCS will be having a Community Impact Night at the Pizza Ranch on March 30 from 5-7p. The money raised will help cover the cost of TV’s that will be placed around school for announcements and tell the story of Christian Education. We hope to see you there!

   Western Christian 8th Grade Day will be held Thursday, April 2, at 3:00p. All 8th graders, regardless of their high school plans, are invited to visit Western on this day. All parents are encouraged to come to Western at 5:30p for a free meal, displays, and tours. Contact Western at 439-1013 with any questions.

   Western Music Department will perform a concert on Thursday, March 19, at 7:00p. The choirs and jazz band will be performing a variety of music in the Event Center. We hope you are able to join us!

   The Pro-Life Pack at Western has signed up to join the 40 Days For Life Prayer Vigil at Planned Parenthood in Sioux Falls on Sat., March 21, from 10:00-11:00a. Everyone is welcome to join us in this pro-life movement.

   While doing your spring cleaning, Bargain Alley Thrift Store can help by accepting donations of clothing, furniture, toys, books, home décor, seasonal goods, hardware, linens, jewelry, sporting goods, shoes & boots. We do have a furniture pickup service by calling 439-6800. If your donation is in good working condition come to the northeast corner of the building. Please do not leave items at the door when no one is in attendance.

DORDT UNIVERSITY CONCERT CHOIR invites you to a concert at 7:30p on Friday, March 20, at B.J. Haan Auditorium. The concert is free, with a freewill offering received to help defray tour expenses.

HUNGRY FREE KIDS of Sioux County is hosting a free-will dinner & auction on Friday, March 27, at the Dordt University’s Ag Stewardship Center off Hwy. 75 N of Sioux Center. Supper at 5:30p and auction at 6:30p. Proceeds go towards the funding of sack packs in Boyden-Hull, MOC-FV, Sioux Center & West Sioux school districts. TIMOTHY LEADERSHIP TRAINING USA: Looking for a way to keep growing in your Christian faith? Consider entering TLT mentoring. The program is centered on personal growth through goal-setting, toward mentoring others.
