WELCOME TO FIRST HULL I return to you, God, in guilt and sorrow. But you run-run to me, sweep me up in your loving embrace and exclaim, “Welcome home”! I am speechless. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

PLEASE NOTE: On Sundays, for security reasons, the doors automatically lock at 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM. If you come after that time, come to the SE doors and someone will let you in.

THIS MORNING we welcome Rev. Scott Van Voorst, pastor at Cornerstone Prison Church, as he leads our service. This evening we welcome Rev. Wayne Kobes from Sioux Center as he leads our service


ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: anyone interested in making profession of faith let Pastor Loren know by April 6. The class will begin April 10 during the Sunday school hour.

PASTOR LOREN AND NORMA will be gone through Tuesday, March 29. In case of a special need, call your care group elder. Pastor Tim will be gone until March 31.

MISSION GUILD makeup meeting is Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00p (please note change of date). Lesson 9. Opening Prayer: Carol Vis; Closing Prayer: Linda Brunsting.

PICTURE DIRECTORY: I have quite a few of the picture directories finished. If you would like one, you can stop in my office (Monday-Thursday) or catch me Sunday after church and I will get you one.

THE ANNUAL CHRISTIAN ED DAY OF CELEBRATION is scheduled for Wed., March 30 in the HCS Gym. Pre-meat sales begin at 4:00, supper served at the concession stand starting at 5:00, and the auction begins at 6:30p. An updated list of donated items is in your church mailbox.

JR HIGH RETREAT April 22-24 is fast approaching. The deadline to register is April 1! Registration forms are on the narthex table. No late registrations due to new policies at Inspiration Hills.

THANK YOU for your expressions of sympathy, cards, phone calls, and your prayers in the passing of my sister-in-law, Iva Elbers. Your thoughtfulness was all very much appreciated. Nelvina Kroese

THANK YOU to everyone that sent cards, well wishes, prayers, and meals as I began my breast cancer journey. Special thanks to Pastor Kotman for his many calls and visit. I am so thankful that my surgery was successful and now I will be getting radiation treatments. It will be only 5 treatments in a 2-week period. My cancer was small and low grade, so the treatments are minimal. Praise God for so many blessings! So thankful to my family and dear friends for all your encouragement. It’s wonderful to belong to such a caring church family. “Great is Thy Faithfulness”. -Vell Keizer



Taylyn Blake Vander Schaaf was born on Tuesday, March 22. She weighed 5 lbs. 13 oz. and is doing overall very well! They will continue to monitor her in the NICU at Sanford Children’s in Sioux Falls and are confident surgery can wait awhile! Please pray that she will continue to feed well, and that her little heart and lungs do good so she can come home soon! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us and also for the cards we’ve received. We appreciate everything! -Kyle, Janae and family!

Give thanks for ongoing progress for Carver and Maddox Kooima. Pray for continued growth and development. Call Travis or Megan before you stop by.

Pray for Russ Vander Schaaf as he continues with cancer treatment. Pray for strength, energy and healing.  

Continue to keep Rick Van Hill in your prayers as he continues with cancer treatments.

Remember Pete Soodsma in his struggle with Parkinson’s and depression.

Pray that those in our community who are sick, dealing with pain, or those who have ongoing prayer concerns that they will return to good health and recover quickly.

We praise God for the opportunities that our church members have had in the last weeks to serve. For the youth who went of Omaha and for those who served at the border. We pray that their work will be fruitful for His Kingdom.

We rejoice with Pete and Jenifer Steiger as they celebrate the birth of a new granddaughter, Adelynn Grace who was born on Friday, March 18, to Kevin and Michelle (Steiger) Haan.

Please keep Loren Van Otterloo in your prayers as he continues with radiation treatments.

We remember Le Talsma in the care for the back pain he experiences.

We pray for those who worship from their homes. May they be filled with hope and feel included as part of our church family.

   8th Grade Day at Western: Calling all 8th Grade Students and Parents! On Thursday, April 7, we welcome 8th grade students and parents to WCHS for supper and registration. We will serve food between 5:15-6:15p and the main program will start in the Event Center at 6:15. We will dismiss around 8:30p. We ask that parents and students attend 8th Grade Day together.
