Preparation for worship: “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away?

Pastor:     Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

ALL:        let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with

perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfector of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

WELCOME TO FIRST HULL: Welcome to worship, whether in person or online! May zeal for God’s house consume us, as it did Jesus (John 2:17), but remember that the Holy Spirit lives in every human heart. A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is from Daniel 5 titled “The Handwriting on the Wall”.

THE EVANGELISM COMMITTEE will not be meeting this month.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU to attend the Annual Day of Prayer service this Wednesday at 7:00p. We will be praying for Agriculture and Industry, Schools and Community, Families and Churches, our Nation and the World. Hope CRC will be joining us for the service in our church.

NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Loren has a classical appointment at First Sheldon CRC for both services.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CELEBRATION DAY will be held on Wednesday, March 31. We will start eating at 5:30p (concession stand) featuring pulled pork sandwiches, pizza, popcorn, chips and beverages. We are requesting each family with kids in school to bring some kind of baked goods (bars, cookies, puppy chow, etc.) to sell at the concession stand. Due to a generous donation, there will be meat at the auction!

THE COUNCIL is seeking nominations for Elders and Deacons. If you feel called to serve or know of someone you believe is well equipped for these positions, please contact Rob Westra by Monday evening, March 8th. THE SHARE GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, March 18, at 6:00p at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3 miles north and 2 miles east of Hull.
