WELCOME TO FIRST HULL God has “called us out of darkness into his marvelous light”! As God’s “royal priesthood…God’s own people,” we joyfully claim the identity God has bestowed on us. Welcome! A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TV’s are available so that the service can be viewed. THE “SHARE” GROUP for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, May 18, at 6:00p at Homestead Commons in Hull. Melissa Beyer will cater supper and you are asked to please bring $10 to cover the cost of the meal. Following supper, a DVD presentation from Louie Giglio’s Passion Talk Series will be shown. Call Deanna Tiedeman at 439-2229 by Monday, May 15th, to reserve your spot.
ADVANCE NOTICE: In order to allow for more members to participate in our annual Ascension Day service, Elders have decided to commemorate Ascension Day on Sunday, May 28, in the morning service.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Our church is scheduled to serve the evening meal at the Banquet in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, June 7th. We need 6-8 people to help prepare the food at their facility at 2:00p and 35-40 people to serve the meal. You are requested to be at the Banquet at 5:15p. A sign-up sheet is located on the narthex table. We need to know soon how many people are able to help out because if we don’t get enough then the Banquet will need to find additional volunteers for us. Sign up soon!!
PROFESSION OF FAITH: Jessi De Jager, Dana Driesen, Alyssa Fedders, Jared Kats, Rachel Kats, Cassidy Van’t Hul, and Taylor Westphal met with the elders on Monday evening to profess their faith in Jesus Christ. Public profession for Dana Driesen is scheduled for Sunday morning, May 28, and Sunday morning, June 18, for the others.
GOSPEL MISSION: Our church is responsible for the service at the Gospel Mission on Wednesday, May 31st. We have a speaker and piano player, but are looking for special music. Call Tim Kats (578-9728) if you are willing to help out.
THE CARY CHRISTIAN CENTER is coming to town! They will be hosting a fish fry at JFA on Thursday, May 18, from 5:00-7:00p. We extend our Christian sympathy to John & Wilma Grevengoed, Travis & Sarah Grevengoed and Mike & Connie Grevengoed and their families in the sudden passing of their loved one, Cheryl Grevengoed, on Tuesday morning, May 9. Funeral services were held on Friday morning.
Eldon De Wild was admitted to the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls on Wednesday. His white blood count was high and he had complications with breathing. He is on antibiotics now and hoped to return home by Saturday, May 13th. Please keep Eldon & LuAnn in your prayers.
Continue to pray for Nancy Heynen and Randy Veldman as they recover from recent surgeries.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:
Lyla Boer continues physical therapy. We pray for continued strength and recovery. We keep Don and the rest of the family in our prayers as well.
We praise God with Josh and Kaylee Hulstein and family in the birth of a son, Trent Colin Hulstein, on Sunday evening, May 7. He was born 8 weeks early with a weight of 3 pounds. Kaylee continues to recover from the complications related to her pregnancy and Trent is doing well, receiving care in the NICU at Sanford Hospital. We praise God for this child, a safe delivery, and the care that they all are receiving.
We praise God with Evan and Sarah Wiersma in the birth of twin boys, Emmet Michael (6 lbs. 4 oz) and Easton Donald (6 lbs. 13 oz), on Monday morning, May 8. Sarah and sons are doing very well. We praise God for these children and for health.
Dave Mulder, brother in law to Marideth and Mike Van Otterloo, received news that cancer has returned. He has decided to proceed with chemo treatment, hoping that it will put him in remission so that he can prepare for a bone marrow transplant.
We remember our members who reside in care facilities: Mary Grooters at Pleasant Acres, Marv Boon at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, and Evelyn Dykstra in Byron Center Manor in Byron Center, MI. We also pray for their families as they support them.
Western will host its 95th commencement for 64 students on Tuesday, May 23, at 7:00p in the gymnasium. The graduation speaker will be Rev. Loren Kotman from First CRC. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
Western Music Department will be performing their final concert of the year on Wed., May 17, at 7:00 in the Western Event Center. Highlighting this concert will be performances by Concert Choir, Cantus, Orchestra, and Concert Band.
HCS is accepting applications for a part-time paraprofessional for the 2017-2018 school year. The position will require working with a variety of students and assisting teachers in the classroom. SIOUX CENTER HEALTH is providing a Multiple Sclerosis Support Class on Thursday, May 18, from 4:30-5:30p at the Sioux Center Library. Eric Forseth, Dordt College Provost, will join us as he shares his experience of pain and struggles in life when his mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at his young age. After his wife received the same diagnosis he felt God’s calling to share his family story. To win a free copy of Eric’s book called “Holding Together: Courage for Life’s Pain and Struggles”, invite a family member or friend along to be entered into a drawing.
INSPIRATION HILLS Memorial Day Summer Kick-Off & Auction will be held on Monday, May 29, beginning at 3p with the Live Auction beginning at 3:30p. A light supper will be available from 4:30-6 (freewill donation). Our evening program begins at 6p with greetings from camp staff/summer counselors and entertainment by “Four for Him” a men’s quartet from Sanborn. HABITAT HOME DEDICATION: Please join Siouxland Habitat for Humanity Saturday, June 3, at 11:30a as we welcome home the Adams family and give thanks to God for His love working throughout this project. The home is located at 703 5th St. in Ireton. Enjoy fellowship and lunch with everyone afterwards.
PROMISE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER will hold its 7th annual Wellness on Wheels Bicycle Ride (WOW7) on Sat., June 3. Four routes will be offered: 6, 30, & 60 mile paved rides and a 30 mile gravel ride.
