WELCOME TO FIRST HULL In the name of Christ the King, we welcome you to worship on this Sunday. Let us together praise and worship our God.  A nursery and quiet room are available in the basement. TVs are available so that the service can be viewed. We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE will begin this morning. Please have students in the Beginners-5th grade classes meet in the sanctuary immediately after the service.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: If you would like your child to play an instrument for the prelude for the Christmas Program on Dec. 11, please contact Brittany Veldman at 712-441-3584. Thank you!

FAREWELL DINNER 12:00 SHARP! Those who signed up are welcome to go over to the school after church and visit with Pastor Loren and Norma Kotman before the meal is served.

KIWANIS THANKS SERVICE is scheduled for this evening at 6:00p. Pastor Keith Hoekstra will be bringing the message. Join with members of the Kiwanis, American Reformed, First Reformed, St. Paul Lutheran, Hope CRC and First CRC for this special service of worship and thanksgiving. Stay for refreshments after the service.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH will not be meeting tonight.

MEMBERSHIP TRANSFERS: The communicant membership of Pete Hiemstra was transferred, at his request, to the Sunnyslope CRC in Salem, Oregon. The communicant membership of Kerrigan (Kats) Granstra was transferred, at her request, to the First CRC of Sheldon. THANK YOU to those who put together an Operation Christmas Child box. Our church delivered 30 boxes.



Lois Salazar had her PET scan this past Tuesday and the results showed a small tumor on her liver. Because of the location and size, it does not justify major surgery. They were encouraged by her cancer marker decreasing slightly. It will be closely monitored for growth or spreading. Thank you for your prayers and please continue praying that it dissolves. We know prayer works!!

Jay Stellinga was released from the hospital on Wednesday. Give thanks that the surgery went well. Pray for God’s healing mercies.

We extend our Christian sympathy to Rog & Mary De Groot and family in the passing of their sister-in-law, Gloria Van Beek, of Rock Valley, on Tuesday. Funeral services were held on Friday.

Give thanks that the lumpectomy surgery went well for Sharon Soodsma. A plan is being put in place for radiation treatments. Pray for healing.

Continue to remember Gaylene Bouma as she recovers. Pray for strength and healing.

The procedure scheduled for Maddox Kooima on November 14 has been postponed to December 14. Pray that Carver and Maddox would stay healthy.

Pray for Russ Vander Schaaf as he continues with cancer treatments. Pray for strength, energy, healing and relief from pain.  

Rick Van Hill continues with cancer treatment. Pray for minimal side effects and for a better appetite.

Rog De Groot began cancer treatment on Tuesday, November 15. Pray for God’s healing mercies.

Give thanks that Lavonne den Hoed is recovering well from the knee replacement surgery. Pray that physical therapy continues to go well and for healing.

Give thanks that the lumpectomy that Audrey Van Maanen had on Tuesday went very well. Radiation treatments will be determined after healing takes place. Thanks for all your prayers, calls and cards.

John Wolfswinkel, Andrea Westra’s father, has returned home and is doing well. We praise God for the care he received and pray for his continued recovery.

Donna Obbink, Diana Dykstra’s mother, experienced one or more small strokes last weekend. There are some resulting physical and motor skills challenges. We ask that you be in prayer for Donna and her family. We are grateful that she is back at her residence at Royal Meadows.

Jerry Van Roekel continues to recover in the rehabilitation facility in Sioux Falls. Praise that he was able to begin his rehabilitation at the hospital as they plan and prepare for his return home. We pray for continued healing and progress and that the house may be prepared to meet his needs as he comes home.

We continue to pray for Loren Van Otterloo as he is now in hospice care. We pray for comfort and the peace that passes understanding for Loren, Shelly, Lindsey, Allie, Nate, Trevin and for the extended family.

We continue to pray for Jackie Covey and her family as she continues with chemo and infusions. We pray for the upcoming MRI.

Remember Verla Elgersma (Beth Mark’s mother) as she deals with colon cancer. Please pray for comfort and that her pain may be controlled, and for the family for God’s comfort and peace in this time.

Pray for those who are struggling with an addiction, emotional hurt, depression, and mental illness.

Pray for our families, our marriages, that God would strengthen them, guide them, and be honored in them.

Pray for those who cannot join us in worship, that they would be comforted and feel close to the congregation.


   HCS is $20,000 short of its NICSTO goal of raising over $140,000. The money needs to be raised by December 1. This gift helps families with tuition assistance. In exchange for your donation, you will receive a 75% tax credit on your Iowa income tax (C Corporations, S Corporations, LLC and Partnerships are also eligible for STO tax credits). A portion of the donation can also be claimed as a deduction on your federal income tax. If you are interested in donating to this fund, please contact Randy Ten Pas (439-2273) at HCS.

   HCS will be receiving at least one Ukrainian student in the next few weeks. We would like to hire a paraprofessional to support the student while bridging the potential language barrier, as well as other needs that may arise. This will begin as a full-time position, but may change as the needs change.

DORDT UNIVERSITY MUSIC DEPARTMENT will present a small ensembles recital at 7:30p on Friday, December 2, in the B.J.  Haan Auditorium. The recital will feature Dordt University’s Saxophone Ensemble and Clarinet Choir.

LOVE INC is seeking a part-time (20 hours) Call Center Coordinator. This position requires strong inter-personal skills, discernment, personal boundaries, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include answering phones, coordinating screening of requests, discerning the nature and legitimacy of each need, and connecting people with local churches, volunteers, and resources. THE FOSTER GRANDPARENT & SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAMS need more volunteers in the Hull area. If you are 55 years and older, we need you to help others in your community. Foster Grandparents help children who need assistance in schools, daycares, or Head Start Centers. Senior Companions visit adults that need assistance and companionship.
