WELCOME TO FIRST HULL: Let us worship God who creates all things, came as Jesus to save the World and breathes life into us through the Holy Spirit. Amen
WE WELCOME Rev. Joel De Boer as he leads our worship services today. Pastor has been appointed by classis to preach at Calvin CRC in Le Mars.
CHOIR will NOT meet today as previously planned. Adult Sunday School will also NOT be meeting today. Both will begin when Sunday School resumes.
THE ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING for Christian Fellowship will be held next Sunday evening and not tonight as previously stated.
CHURCH NURSERY will be staffed and will be open. There will not be any toys in the nursery. We are asking that parents bring their own toys for their children to play with. Thank you!

NEXT SUNDAY MORNING the sacrament of baptism will be administered to Waylon John Van Grouw, infant son of Curtis and Emily.
YPS CAN FOOD DRIVE on Wednesday, October 7. The YPS will be walking around town October 7th picking up items for the food pantry. Please see the list in your church box. Due to COVID, please have them outside your front door for us to pick up or leave them in the church kitchen. If we miss your house, please contact one of the leaders and we will stop by your house later in the week.
BABY SHOWER: We are having a baby shower for Kaleigh Van Middendorp & daughter, Cambrea Marie, born March 14, for Ashlee Vant Hul & daughter, Addyson Lorayne, born April 3, for Kenzie Hoekstra & daughter Parker Lynn, born July 15, and Emily Van Grouw & son, Waylon John, born September 4, on Tuesday, October 13, in the church basement from 6:30-8:00p. Come and go as it works in your schedule. All ladies are encouraged to attend. Cookies, coffee and cold drink will be served.
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE the East half of the sanctuary (youth building side) will be designated as a social distancing area during services. Both East and West halves will be seated every other bench until full, at which point remaining people will be seated in empty benches on the West half. Those who need to social distance due to age or health concerns are encouraged to sit on the East side. Members are reminded that the back 7 benches on both sides are reserved for families with small children.
PASTOR APPRECIATION: The month of October has been designated as pastor and spouse appreciation month. We encourage you to show your appreciation for what they have done and are doing in our congregation by giving them a call, sending a note, or some other way.

SHARE GROUP: Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Sioux County, the SHARE group for widows and widowers will not be meeting in the month of October. We will re-evaluate and hope to meet in Nov. if possible.
THANK YOU for all your thoughts and prayers while I was dealing with pneumonia. A special thanks to Pastor Kotman and Larry Wielenga for the calls and also to Dan and Kathy De Wit for the meal brought in. It is comforting to know we belong to a loving and caring church – Sandy Westra and family
THANK YOU: We would like to thank all of our church family that sent cards of sympathy, thoughts and prayers in the passing of our Mom, Wilmyna Jansma. Thank you to our Care Groups for the flower arrangements and meals. Also, thank you to Pastor Kotman and Elders Dave Rozeboom and Lee Van Grouw for their calls and prayers with us. FIRST CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS:
Congratulations to Jon and Bethany Scholten on the birth of a son, Wyatt Glen, who was born on Thursday, September 24. He was in the NIC unit for a couple of days with low blood sugar because he was four weeks early. Bethany and Wyatt came home on Saturday, September 26.
Continue to remember John Bolkema as he struggles with Parkinson’s and recovers from pneumonia.
Donna Rens returned home from the hospital on Tuesday. She is thankful for progress made. No visitors at this time, but phone calls are welcome. Jim Rens is doing well in his recovery from Covid. Continue to remember him and Donna in your prayers.
Give thanks that Howard and Marilyn Grevengoed are making progress in their healing from Covid. They appreciate your ongoing prayers.
Give thanks that Jim Keizer continues in his recovery from Covid. He is feeling so much better.
Give thanks that Amber Vande Weerd is feeling better. Pray for continued strength.
Remember all those in our congregation who are confined to their homes as well as those in nursing homes or in assisted living as they are unable to have visitors at this time due to COVID-19. This is a difficult time for them so a phone call or a note from members of the congregation would be appreciated!
Continue to remember LeRoy Jongetjes at Rock Rapids Health Centre. He is not allowed to have visitors. Pray for him as he continues to adjust to a new living situation and as he struggles with his health. Cards would be appreciated. His address is 703 S. Union Street, Room 315, Rock Rapids, IA 51246.
Continue to remember Norma Kotman as she recovers from surgery and a broken wrist.
Esther Rozeboom has fallen a couple of times recently. Thankfully she has not broken any bones but she does have some pain. Pray for relief.
Pray for Pete Soodsma in his struggles with Parkinsons and depression.

HOPE CRC FAMILY PRAISE AND PRAYER CONCERNS
Jan Bakker will be starting a series of chemo treatments on Monday to treat recurring lymphoma activity. Pray for strength and the effectiveness of these treatments.
We continue to pray for those who continue their recovery from recent surgeries. We pray for their strengthening.
We continue to pray for those who are recovering from Covid-19 or have family members that are dealing with this illness. We pray for their healing.
We pray for our families. Some have significant challenges in their lives for a variety of reasons. Let us pray for peace, stability, healing, and restoration.
We pray for those who join us in worship from their homes. Whether they are unable to attend or are taking appropriate precautions due to age or illness, we pray for the Lord’s presence and care in their lives.

Order forms for purchasing meat at Western Christian’s annual Fall Bonanza were placed in church mailboxes a few weeks ago. If you did not receive one or have not seen it, you may order online at https://www.westernchristianhs.com/office/fall%20meal%20.pdf. Orders must be in by November 1. Your order will be available on November 20 at the school. There will not be meat certificates available the day of the auction. All meat must be preordered. DORDT: The Dakota Wind Quintet will perform a recital at Dordt University at 7:30p on Friday, October 9, in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The Dordt Music Dept. will present a 4th Avenue Jazz Concert on Friday, Oct. 16, at 3:00p in the Auditorium. Masks are required for all recital attendees and seating will be socially distanced.
