September 20, 2020

WELCOME TO FIRST HULL:  Welcome to worship and Christian education, a time to reconnect and form new connections. May the Lord enrich our time together.

THIS MORNING we have the joy of administering the sacrament of baptism to Cambrea Marie Van Middendorp, infant daughter of Brett & Kaleigh.

SUNDAY SCHOOL/CATECHISM classes will begin today. The Sunday School offering this year will go to the Hull Food Pantry. Room assignments are listed in the insert.

THIS EVENING Pastor Loren’s message is from Rev. 2:8-11 titled “Jesus Words to a Suffering Church”.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH will not be starting until after the first of the year.

CLASSIS HEARTLAND meeting will be held on Saturday via Zoom. Elder Dave Te Slaa, Deacon Jon Scholten and Pastor Loren will be participating.

NEXT SUNDAY MORNING we will recognize Rev. Carl Klompien for his 16 years of service as Pastor of Visitation in our church. One of the ways that we are expressing our appreciation is to have Rev. Klompien choose the cause for which the offering is given. The second offering in the morning will be for the causes he has chosen, The Luke Society and Western Christian High School. The offering will be divided between the two.

NEXT SUNDAY EVENING Rev. Nathan Kuperus from the Ireton CRC will be leading our evening service as part of a post-classis exchange. Pastor Loren will be leading the service in the Ireton CRC.

GEMS will be kicking off their season Wednesday, September 23, 7:00p at Hope CRC. All girls in grades 2-8 are welcome to attend. We meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 6:45-8:30p at Hope CRC in Hull. Girls will enjoy a time of worship, Bible study and crafts.

CADETS will be having their kickoff meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6:45p. We will start with our opening exercises, play some games, and roast marshmallows. Please do not wear your uniforms to this. Parents, we will be finished by 8:30p so you may come pick up your boy(s) at that time. Thank you!`

THE NURSERY and surrounding rooms are available to parents with small children who need to take them out of the sanctuary. There will not be a nursery staff and toys will not be available. Starting October 4, the nursery will be staffed again for the morning services and toys will be available.

UNTIL FUTHER NOTICE the East half of the sanctuary (youth building side) will be designated as a social distancing area during services. Both East and West halves will be seated every other bench until full, at which point remaining people will be seated in empty benches on the West half. Those who need to social distance due to age or health concerns are encouraged to sit on the East side. Members are reminded that the back 7 benches on both sides are reserved for families with small children.
