January 1, 2012
WELCOME TO FIRST HULL: Happy New Year! Welcome, one and all, as we enter a new year of life, secure in Jesus! We invite everyone to join us for fellowship & coffee after the morning service in the church basement. Reach out to those you do not know and greet them warmly. Each Sunday, extend a hand of fellowship to at least one person you do not usually have contact with, whether a visitor or fellow church member. Share the love of Christ!
WE WELCOME Rev. Carl Klompien as he leads our morning worship service and Rev. Dave Vander Laan as he leads our evening service.
NEXT SUNDAY Rev. David Prince from Platte, SD will lead our morning worship service and Rev. Joel Bensema will lead our evening service.
REV. DAVID PRINCE and his wife, Patrice, will be in Hull January 6-8th. The leaders and members of every society and Bible study group are encouraged to meet Rev. Dave and Patrice in a combined session on Sunday afternoon, January 8, at 1:30p in the “basement” to describe what group you represent, what you study, etc. We will follow the same itinerary as was handed out in December for Friday and Saturday.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES will not be meeting today. We will meet again on January 8.
THANK YOU: I would like to thank you for the overwhelming amount of cards you sent me for my birthday and Christmas. It’s really nice to know that so many people are thinking and praying for me. I am doing well. I appreciate all of you a lot. You are a very caring church. Have a blessed New Year! –Matthew Starkenburg
THANK YOU to those who delivered Meals on Wheels in December for our church. They were Lou & Bud, Gerald & Harriet, Howard & Marilyn, and Ron & Betty. It was appreciated!
THANK YOU: Our hearts are filled with joy as we reflect on this past year at the Luke Society and enter into the New Year, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through partnerships in 37 countries around the world and the gifts of our faithful supporters, the salvation message continues to spread to lives that were previously untouched. Our brothers and sisters in Christ have been able to pursue their calling to teach, preach, and heal in their own countries. Thank you, First CRC, for the important role you have played in enabling these men and women to touch lives in Jesus’ name. –Bridget Smith, Luke Society
